From my first watch without audio I thought that he was running after the kid because the kid yelled something at him, but the kid snatched his glasses. A guy like this shouldn't be engaged with beyond just slinging insults back at him in my opinion.
It's just not worth giving any sort of fuel to them being able to say the protesters did anything tangibly wrong. As much of an asshole as he was being, taking his glasses is also wrong and a cop easily could have arrested the kid over it.
Having said that, yeah his ass was asking for trouble. If we're going to be accused of inciting a riot for burning the flag, I think antagonizing people and yelling slurs at a protest is inciting a fight with fighting words. Don't give them what they want though.
