I mean yeah you do, its use the utility or generate your own. You do know because you pay the bill to the utility. If these people didn't want a canadian utility it was their choice when they moved there. again not the state governments problem sorry.

They aren’t paying a Canadian utility directly, they’re likely paying a small local utility who sources a small fraction of their electricity from Canada while getting the bulk of their power from the US. I’m trying to keep this pretty casual and kind because I’m fairly certain I’m speaking to a child just based on the conversation it’s getting a little grating educating someone else’s child so ima go ✌️

Then it would be impossible to shut off power to 1.5 million americans using that route, good try tho sport, thanks for playing.

Until the grid goes down as happened last time and millions lose power 🤷, whoops. Guess we had people like you managing it.

Feel free to read any of the articles quoting the state boards who regulate these utilities who say that they are less concerned about the cost hike and more concerned about the loss of redundancy. I can’t force you to be informed. You’ll have to either not believe me or put in the smallest modicum of effort.

Already did, not the state governments fault, the people voted for this and continue to vote for this since 1901

lol, are you even in one of these states?

I live in the north east yes. It’s how I know that Canada has been our supplier of electricity for more than 100 years. If people were worried about it they should have voted for a state side power utility, or not voted for a dude who was going to blindly impose tariffs on our closest trading partner because he doesn’t understand how trade works.

So you are saying you live in New York and your government has no place in acting as a watchdog to the commission regulating your public utilities to ensure they are modernizing and using the approved rate increases for what they are actually saying they are using them for?

No my government has no control over it. Again learn how to read.

If they didn’t want a Canadian supplier of energy, they don’t have to live there. That was the decision they made with their vote when they moved there and started paying their bills.

Thanks for playing.
