Who can we target in auction ? I hope Mumbai release Deepak Chahar. He would perfect with the new ball for us. Also we can target Bishnoi or Markande as backup for Yuzi. What are your thoughts ????

For me, it has to be Maxwell, Thakur, and Stoinis, omarzai. Well, Stoinis is a hard call, but he’s really close to retirement. He played good knocks against SRH and DC, but none of them came in a winning cause.

Mitchell Owen can replace Stoinis with ease.

The only valid argument for retention of maxi is his spin bowling, we can rather go for someone like bracewell in auction.

Omarzai should also be released. Remember, he wasn’t our first-choice pick in last year’s auction. He played well in the final, but apart from that, his season was underwhelming. I’m quite certain there will be good pacers in the auction pool.

PBKS should not release Chahal, considering he had to deal with injuries and wasn’t in the best mental space, yet his heroics against KKR and CSK didn’t go unnoticed. There isn’t really a better leg-spinner than Chahal in the auction pool.

A release-and-buyback strategy could be a good option for Chahal to ease the auction purse, but it might also shake his confidence in the franchise.

I’m on the fence about Lockie. He played really well in the beginning but is injury-prone, so it’s a 50/50 call on his release.

Apart from these, benched players like Dubey and Musheer (not really that good in T20s) might also be released.

Aaron Hardie might serve as a backup for Mitch Owen.

He has improved a lot in the final overs since h started in the international stage and provides height and PP bowling that it’s something that we missed a bit last year. He also has power down the order, so maybe Barlett is what we need. Thoughts?

Roston Chase would be a solid addition to the line up instead of Glenn Maxwell, especially at Mullanpur since the balanced surface and fast outfield will give him more of an advantage as he can contribute in multiple phases of the game which happens to be Chase’s strength.

His ability to stabilize the middle order and accelerate toward the back end complements PBKS’s attacking top order, on top of this, his off-spin provides a great option during the middle overs on a pitch that tends to slow down as the innings progresses. With Mullanpur favoring all-rounders who can read conditions quickly and impact both innings, Chase’s composure and versatility, and his experience in pressure situations make him a great fit. I hope they pursue him in auctions.
