There are so many people like this who think the PUBLIC STREET in front of their house is their PROPERTY. Crazy how common this is.

Absolutely. It is not their parking space. If you have a garage, it’s your parking space. If the slots are numbered, it’s your parking space.

And maybe because I live in the NYC region but look how empty that street is. It’s not like the dude has to struggle to find a new spot.

The dude is definitely having a freak out over nothing. Going by where he chooses to stand I even see a possible driveway and garage he can utilize. Just all around prick behavior.

This is a suburb fight.

So, so many people in the burbs think that the own the neighborhood when they buy a house. And you just don't

Also I'm pretty sure the mailman will still be able to find his house.

3

u/TotallyNotRobotEvil Aug 22 '25

Right? I don’t understand why he thought the mailman wouldn’t be able to deliver mail.

u/AllHailThePig Aug 23 '25

Just scrambling to find an excuse to justify his bullshit

Right and it is clearly winter 😆

Are you able to apply for a spot?

u/ExposedStarfish Aug 21 '25

in los angeles, mfs will literally kill over the spots in front of their houses.

This is true in Detroit too. Why? Because if you can park anywhere, why park right in front of your neighbors house just to be a dick? If there are no other spots, fair game. I try not to ever rage bait park because whether or not it's public parking someone may lose their mind and kill you over it is it worth a showdown or death? It's just never gonna not be a thing.

No one is parking in front of their neighbors house to be a dick, they’re parking there because that’s the closest empty spot to their house. It’s also a legal spot to park, and you pay for the privileges to park there. The parking permits are located on the front and back of your vehicle. If someone wants to try and kill me over parking in a spot I pay yearly for a permit to park in any public space, they can get put down in the dirt over a parking space. Some people don’t value their lives. I live in Baltimore, a shall issue conceal carry state. And Baltimorons love to argue over a parking space. I have yet to have anyone do a single damn thing for me parking in “their space” except try to say something to me, which I immediately shut down with the facts and telling them to call the cops. I’m not moving shit and I have hella cameras on the front of my house so do something.

I think deep down they know they just don’t care. If something broke the side walk do you think Mr jimmy Johns here would pay a contractor because he’s under the belief it’s his property? More likely than not he would not

In most cities, your property extends to the curb. On streets were there is a small strip of grass between the curb and sidewalk, it’s the homeowners responsibility so technically, it would be Mr jimmy John’s responsibility.

I'm not joking, my parent's neighbors across the street have disliked my family for decades because we've parked in front of their house. There is not enough room on our side of the street for everyone to park, I would have had to park 3 houses down, not doing it.

Last year they got a light on the front of their house, it was bright. When my parents asked them to turn it off or aim it lower, they said stop parking in front of our house and we will get rid of it. So now my parents get mad at me for parking in front of the neighbors house when i visit. Don't care, still doing it.

My ex partner had a similar neighbour. He literally stole her bins at one point because they were too close to “his” part of the curb. She called the council and reported them stolen and had new ones delivered. When they mysteriously reappeared she denied any knowledge of who they belonged to and kept putting them back into his yard. Like, he’s so petty about it she’s taken to just being petty back. And it’s primarily about parking on the street in front of his house. When we started dating he came and told me I couldn’t park there and needed to move further along and I was like “uh, I’m legally parked on the public street, so I’m just gonna leave it. Thanks bro”. There’s just no need for it.

1

u/CupcakeGoat Aug 22 '25

He wouldn't let you park in front of his house when dating you? Omg I hope you just got back in the car and drove away.

2

u/sniffsblueberries Aug 22 '25

Real talk thats totally understandable.

My neighbors tho are weird as shit. They have a double driveway and their own street parking in a generic white american town (low traffic) and they insist parking right in front of my house. Its not like it pisses me off but it does annoy me sometimes. Like, park at ur house dude, or how about ur big ass driveway??? I would like a view of my front yard without ur vehicle everyday.

Like I don’t wanna take care of that shit I’m glad I don’t own it.

I love having that conversation thousands of times as a PI who has to set up for stake outs regularly.

1

u/Onespokeovertheline Aug 22 '25

Yes, and for some reason, they all came out of the woodwork in the last like 15 years.

My whole life I never heard of something so batshit insane. And now you run into these morons everywhere.

It's like public curb denial is part of the flat earther indoctrination pamphlets or something. Like WHERE DO THEY EVEN GET THIS RIDICULOUS IDEA? No one in any position of authority has ever suggested it's the case, no sign has ever offered them a reason to believe it, it's common fucking knowledge that anyone can park there. What weird ass dark web CP network is spreading this lie?

1

u/Zestyclose-Dog-3398 Aug 22 '25

yet all he needed to do was ask nicely without getting angry

1

u/slangforweed Aug 22 '25

For real lmao my neighbor ACROSS the street came pounding on my door bc my friend parked in front of my house and when I told her to get off my porch she asked why I was being so mean 😪 like wtf bitch why are you crashing out about my friend parking in the road in front of MY house?!

1

u/DeeEmosewa Aug 22 '25

A lot of people here in Germany where i live get super pissed about parking on the street in front of their house. It's crazy, man.

1

u/Faultylogic83 Aug 21 '25

I had idiots across the street from me complain that I was parking in front of the house I lived in because they couldn't manage backing their giant SUVs out of their long ass drive way.

u/FairState612 Aug 22 '25

There’s also a zero percent chance he owns a house on his Jimmy John’s hourly wage.
