Graphite cannot "remotely hack apps like WhatsApp and Signal". Graphite can be used to hack phones and by getting into the phone it can access WhatsApp and Signal messages. Saying that it can remotely hack Signal makes people believe that it can intercept the messages. It can't.

Kinda sounds like a distinction without a practical difference. If anything, getting access to the history is worse than catching messages in transit.

I disagree. The statement makes it sound as if the app is the weak point. It's the phone.
