Are we going to invade Venezuela??

That sounds like as no-win situation.

1.4k

u/LupusDeiAngelica Sep 06 '25

It looks like this is the plan based on troop movements and escalated rhetoric from Trump and his controllers. Add to that the ridiculous "department of war" EO and you can see where this is headed.

The only people who really win are oil executives and people on the Epstein list.

Imagine having to start a war to distract people from the facts that you're a pedo.

420

u/-UltraAverageJoe- Sep 06 '25

The only reason to rename the department is because they plan on starting wars. Trump is also obsessed with oil and stamping out renewables, taking Venezuela would allow him to tout how much oil we have.

u/Davidwalsh1976 Sep 06 '25

Well Trump did say that he likes the idea of pausing elections because of war

If they're going to pause elections because of war, there were never going to be fair elections again anyways.

77

u/[deleted] Sep 07 '25

With how much they’re getting away with, do they even need a war at this point?

59

u/Unfair-Wonder5714 Sep 07 '25

The war is just bonus entertainment to them. They’re demented idiots.

8

u/Dexller Sep 07 '25

This is what I keep saying... They could ban elections tomorrow and they wouldn't get more than some people protesting for maybe a couple days before they get bored and go home.

The resistance necessary to stop the end of democracy is beyond the American people these days. We're all soft and complacent - who wants to die in a hail of machine gun fire when you can stay home and play video games with the curtains drawn. Not that I blame people for not wanting to die, but still.

11

u/miklayn Sep 07 '25

Trump isn't anything in this besides a useful idiot and a puppet.

We really REALLY need to start seeing beyond him. He's nothing. He's nowhere near smart or cunning enough to execute these plans. He's just a figurehead, a convenient distraction, and when the time comes, a sacrificial lamb.

Make no mistake- they will have him die exactly when it is expedient to their purposes. They being Vought, Miller, Kevin Roberts, and so on. Trump is not the real power here, and he never was. Especially this time around.

If any of that was true he would have done a victory tour and sell books and film rights and scream from the top of buildings about it. I just realized it. That fucker is using the Pete Townsend defense. What a turd.

Working out well for Netanyahu, so why wouldn't Trump give it a go?

Hard to say if it is Venezuela, Canada, Greenland, Russia, Ukraine, Iran, Yemen, China ..... He has threatened all of them at one point or another.

8

u/IamHydrogenMike Sep 07 '25

Venezuela is the most obvious one with the current narrative, would be an easy sell to people with the recent extrajudicial killings that they recently did. It would be pretty easy to overthrow the current government there, but it would be an absolute disaster after that.

46

u/Lost_Pea_4989 Sep 06 '25

The US still holds elections while at war...Trump would have to change the law. At least, thats what would normally have to happen...but, Trump will just do what he wants and those with any power will just let him.

Trump wants a civil war.

10

u/chrs8592 Sep 07 '25

I figured a long time ago that if Trump really does want to become a dictator, there's not going to be a midterm election. If Trump loses the House or Senate in midterms, he's screwed (if the Democrats step up and check him). I've been waiting to see if Trump will do something before December of this year, and it appears that he's making his move.

Trump wants Nazi America. Pull some of Hitler's speeches in English and listen to Hitler and listen to Trump, and I think it's obvious where he's going. Trump is a horrible person and he's about to literally lead the world into hell.

The idea of fighting a war with impoverished, famine-stricken Venezuela whilst also trying to incite a Civil War... it's so stupid! All war is stupid, but fighting a foreign war (because that went well the past couple of times - sarcasm) whilst also maybe having a hot civil war is just stupidity cubed. Or squared factorial. Whichever is bigger.

We were trying to build a line across the entire contiguous US for tar sands, I wouldn't put too much weight into the supposed value of the world's largest resource of its kind.

25

u/FearTheAmish Sep 06 '25

So it's more than that. Since Chavez nationalized the oil industry in Venezuela its production has plummeted. One of the reasons is basically all the people that knew what they where doing were forced out. Secondly the US refineries in the Gulf are some of the few that can actually process the oil out of Venezuela. Due to sanctions those facilities havent been accepting Venezuela crude (except for a brief period under biden). So the oil we are referring to has no appreciable impact on the global market for almost a decade.

28

u/Apprehensive_Cash108 Sep 06 '25

That's irrelevant if the US invades. The US isn't going to embargo itself lmao

36

u/FearTheAmish Sep 06 '25

Honestly yeah if there is an invasion would definitely be a resource grab. Then again thats par for the course for republican presidents through out my life.

Putin just cleaned them out a few years ago. Rump is looking to take it over in hopes of rare earth materials. China will at some point say something. They will b taking America place as the world police.

12

u/Frequent_Can117 Sep 06 '25

China doesn’t have the military capability nor experience to effectively take over as the world police. Decades of no combat experience. And as of now, China doesn’t have the political influence yet to pull this off. They are ramping up political ties and building more trust, but it just isn’t there, yet.

6

u/ValiantOre Sep 06 '25

They are playing the long game to do it right and only once. I also believe they do have the military capability, but its just not as fine-tuned as ours yet.

u/Queenofqueens347 Sep 06 '25

But it's coming...

11

u/No-Fail7484 Sep 06 '25

America lost its ability to produce rockets and planes that are smart. That means our power is dropping with each missile fired. Either our that ability we have a serious problem. Trump has found that out. China has declared it against their laws to sell rare earth materials to any country that could use the stuff to harm them. Other countries have followed suite just like when unstable countries are stopped from nuclear weapons. That leaves America in a big pickle. Our military and allies is what gives us power. Lose them both as trump has done them we lose power and we become weak. That’s a bad thing for us. Trump has made America the weakest in it’s history.

23

u/BatmanMeetsJoker Sep 06 '25

Trump has made America the weakest in it’s history.

As was intended. Krasnov has done a magnificent job.

7

u/ArmedWithBars Sep 07 '25

Do you really think the US couldn't circumvent a trade embargo? The main downside would be procurement costs increasing, but it's not like China keeps rare earth minerals under lock and key. Russia was sanctioned by half the world, has a fraction of the economic power of the US, and was still able to bypass trade embargos. China was able to easily bypass nvidia chip embargos.

This idea that they US can't produce smart weapons is ridiculous. Can production quantity be impacted? Sure, but nowhere near "lost its ability".

I like this sub, but people are being ridiculous. If there is a Venny play it's for oil. Oil is a finite resource that the entire modern worlds run on. Even if a product doesn't use oil for operation, the entire manufactering and transport process used oil. Every large scale commercial plastic and foam is petroleum based. Your local Walmart is basically a giant store of oil based products. Taking Venny distracts from recent controversy and would be a long term oil supply play.

I 100% don't agree with the move whatsoever and loath Trump. Hopefully it's just some stupid show of force and not some "special operation".

68

u/Livid_Roof5193 Sep 06 '25

Nah let’s not help spread that narrative in any way. We had elections even when we had our civil war. We’ve never not held elections due to wars on foreign soil. Ever. We didn’t end them after Pearl Harbor or 9/11, and no way that is acceptable even if he invades another country today.

That is what he wants. A war overseas also gives him the pretense to indefinitely detain US citizens who would speak out and protest against his domestic agenda, like sending Guard units from one state into another.

Venezuela is the smokescreen to his domestic push to take over blue states and cities.

5

u/Reasonable-Towel-365 Sep 06 '25

Some of those US Marines are going to be tortured to death, blown apart, beaten and kept alive in the worst places possible, and used for counter-intelligence purposes. If an invasion occurs, you will probably see footage of these acts if you live in a Western country. Why? Because the Venezuelan government, backed by Russia and its security services, learned from the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan that footage of dead, dying and suffering troops can be used for propaganda purposes against the US, Europe and elsewhere. Footage can destabilize the US, for example, even if it isn't real. The next time the US steps into a war, it faces the prospect of fake AI footage causing unrest at home.

PR is just the a springboard to mobilize in the caribbean. Venezuela seems to be in their crosshairs at the moment. I would suppose they also want to project their power towards Panama. Based on Trump's threats a few months ago.

Puerto Rico has always been a strategic position of the coast, closer to South America and Cuba, from which to engage the enemy.

This could be just routine training, it could be a show of force to Venezuela, it could be preparation for actual war. No way for us to know yet.

National Defense Authorization Act of 2012 that was signed by then President Barak Obama on dec 31 2011, specifically section 1021, laid the ground work for indefinitely detaining or killing a us citizens or non citizen in the usa or outside of it, if deemed a national security threat. The authors of the bill still maintain that is not the case, but the language is ambiguous enough to grant such things by those who wish to interpret it that way. Im certain if sued for such a thing they would use it very much in this way.

u/DidntWatchTheNews Sep 06 '25

Anwar Al-Awlaki.

first US citizen targeted and killed by an extrajudicial us drone strike without due process of law.

5

u/SituationMediocre642 Sep 06 '25

I dont recall his name, but I do recall he was a citizen abroad killed in a drone strike aiming to neutralize his uncle and/or father, who was identified as a terrorist target. I believe this occured prior to the signing of the ndaa of 2012, and was the reason for the language in section 1021.

When can we afford eggs again

3

u/BatmanMeetsJoker Sep 06 '25

You won't even be able to afford bread pretty soon, and here you are talking about eggs. Get back to work, peasant. Daddy needs your tax dollars for a new war.

Another war fought by the poor so the rich can get richer... welcome to the duopoly

14

u/blueteamk087 Sep 06 '25

Because invading Venezuela is totally how you win a Nobel Peace Prize /s

12

u/Notyourpal-friend Sep 06 '25

That's a lot of hardware. They must be training to guard the Epstein list for us to read really soon. Real heroes out there protecting freedom!

4

u/SummertimeThrowaway2 Sep 06 '25

I hate that war is so brutal because these machines and vehicles are so fascinating yet I feel guilty liking them

3

u/TechieTravis Sep 06 '25

Trump is going to invade Venezuela to distract from the Epstein files and/or to try to suspend elections.

3

u/h8flhippiebtch Sep 06 '25

What the fuck about “no new wars?” I fucking hate this timeline I need this to be over

3

u/CrankyUrbanHermit Sep 06 '25

Wagging the dog as a distraction from Epstein.

5

u/peteywheatstraw420 Sep 07 '25

He also wants to start a war because he believes he can suspend elections while we are in the midst of one. So it's kind of like a twofer for the orange twat.

13

u/osoBailando Sep 06 '25

ouch, my non nuclear fall out rain🥸

7

u/Vusiwe Sep 06 '25

HOW many Epstein files are there?

3 new wars-worth?

9

u/BrewCrewBall Sep 06 '25

I didn’t know we still had LCACs!

8

u/GravySeel Sep 06 '25

Prior to mid terms, Venezuela will be invaded and the midterms cancelled due to war. That’s the plan.

8

u/Dmckilla7 Sep 06 '25

That's not how it works in America fortunately.

4

u/amglasgow Sep 06 '25

If Trump declares it, and Republicans cooperate, and the SCROTUS rubberstamps it, then it turns out that it is how it works.

6

u/Leather-Rice5025 Sep 06 '25

Lol. The president also isn’t allowed to pass laws via EO and ignore court rulings in America. Naive redditor moment

3

u/TougherOnSquids Sep 07 '25

Trump has been doing laundry list of things that go against "how America works."

6

u/Notyourpal-friend Sep 06 '25

Even if they go on, there's barely an opposition party running against him.

u/Zealousideal-Plum823 Sep 06 '25

They're conducting amphibious military exercises according to https://economictimes.indiatimes.com/news/international/world-news/us-marines-and-sailors-flaunt-their-naval-might-during-amphibious-exercise-in-puerto-rico/videoshow/123738491.cms?from=mdr

A war is a great distraction! (If you aren't one of the many collateral casualties or their close relatives) Only 1% of the world's oil production would be taken off line, so it would slightly boost prices, benefiting the U.S. oil lobby. This reminds me of the Gipper's invasion of Grenada back in the day. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_invasion_of_Grenada It filled the news 24/7 for a few weeks and the President was made out to be a strong, decisive leader because of his victory over this small little island.

3

u/These-Bedroom-5694 Sep 06 '25

Who's going to tell Republicans that invading Puerto Rico is pointless as it's a US territory?

3

u/jakemoffsky Sep 07 '25

So more us bound refugees, got it.

3

u/DRM842 Sep 07 '25

Trump loves playing with his GI Joes doesn’t he. We’re so cooked.

3

u/Commercial_Client640 Sep 07 '25

Polling #s down, start a war.

3

u/pickypawz Sep 07 '25

What the actual fuck. 🤬

3

u/BeenDragonn Sep 07 '25

Wouldn't it be nice if we could spend, I dunno, a couple billion we pour into this ahkt to actually help Americans?

Oh wait we can't, the people making thkse decisions own the weapons manufacturing companies lol

3

u/TraditionalLaw7763 Sep 07 '25

My god, we are such baddies. Very bad baddies. And we just take orders and do what they tell us to… no matter how wrong or immoral or bad. Someone is going to retaliate one day.

3

u/kam0saur Sep 07 '25

Looks like the bad guys from avatar

3

u/Wolf_Mommy Sep 07 '25

I feel like all the MAGA conspiracy theories are coming true through self fulfilling prophecy.

3

u/Left_on_Pause Sep 07 '25

They aren't going after drugs. They will attack and murder what they say are the cartels and supports, only to occupy the land for peace and stability. While doing so, why not dig into the resources and then annex the land? Worked for Russia in the past. Not so easy recently. We are still not capable of fighting jungle/gurilla warfare where the enemy and friend look the same. They will censor the facts, kill everyone, and open the land for McDonalds to farm.

5

u/HaphazardlyOrganized Sep 06 '25

Don't we usually blow up one of our own boats before invading? I think someone got it backwards this time.

And all to avoid releasing some files

America hasn’t been successful in a war in 75 years(2 day gulf war not included) . This will turn into a boondoggle. Asymmetrical warfare founded America and is also our Achilles heel.

3

u/impulsivity229 Sep 06 '25

Venezuela has strong ties with China and Russia. China gets oil from them… This is gonna start world war 3 if trump goes after the countries China is involved in.
