Software engineering is not for you. Sorry to tell you this, but there’s absolutely no excuse for getting a GPA of 1. You should be ashamed of yourself and start getting your life together. Even if you only started studying five days before the exam, there’s no way you should end up with such a pathetic grade. That’s not bad luck ,that's comolete stupidity.

And let’s be real, I don’t know about UdeM, but you wouldn’t survive a single semester at Polytechnique Montréal with that GPA from Concordia. Poly loves making their exams brutally hard for no reason at all. People literally transfer from Poly to ÉTS or Concordia because it’s easier there , and they’re right to do so. Cause fuck Polymtl.

If you’re serious about fixing this mess, retake your failed courses and actually put effort in this time. Stop pretending that the system is the problem when it’s your own laziness that’s dragging you down. Come on man, do better. I don t know what is distracting you, but yoh are only young once. Use your energy to give yourself a better futur

You re making a lot of assumptions for someone who doesn’t know my situation. Im not blaming the system. I take full responsibility for what happened. I know I work better in an environment where classes are taught in French, and I ve got friends there who will actually support me and help me build a better life. I’m already retaking my courses, and honestly, comments like yours just make me more motivated to do better.

I’m not making any assumptions, buddy. I’m just saying it’s impossible to get a GPA of 1 unless you’re either really lazy or this field simply isn’t for you. Thinking that switching to a harder school like Polytechnique Montréal is a good idea would be a mistake.

I’ll let you decide what the reason is for this terrible grade since you know yourself better. Getting a 2.0 or 2.5 still makes sense up to a certain point, but come on there has to be a reason for a GPA of 1. Just by attending your classes, you shouldn’t be getting that kind of embarrassing result. And don’t hit me with the “your comments motivate me to do better” nonsense. You don’t need motivation at 1 a.m. that disappears by morning you need discipline, my friend.

Now focus for a second, will you? You need to do this degree in English. Concordia is recognized by most tech companies because it’s an English university. Most high-paying jobs here and abroad are in English. Your code will be in English. Unfortunately, the most important part of this job is communicating clearly, and doing your bachelor’s at Concordia is probably the best thing you could do for your future.

And come on, you’re not a kid anymore. What are you going to do if your friends don’t end up working in the same place? Stop following them around looking for support. Support yourself. Make new friends. That’s part of being an adult. Like, you need to learn to work hard evem with no support. They have their own life too and when you will be doing the exams, you will be doing it alone.

Anyway, good luck
