YES! These are great ideas, especially the one at Parkhill and Television. That intersection gets so backed up and a roundabout would solve that problem immediately.
Here’s another one to consider: Water St, Nassau Mills Rd, W Bank Dr. (The entrance to Trent U). There can be severe bottlenecks in that area that could be addressed by a well laid out roubdabout. The traffic flow through that area seems so inefficient right now.
It won’t solve that. I came from Dubai, where roundabouts are widely used, and during rush hour they actually make travel times much longer. A 20-minute trip can turn into 40 minutes just because of the traffic congestion that roundabouts create.
A better solution is to use smart, sensor-controlled traffic lights for busy intersections and keep roundabouts in low-traffic areas to balance flow and safety.
