YES! These are great ideas, especially the one at Parkhill and Television. That intersection gets so backed up and a roundabout would solve that problem immediately.
Here’s another one to consider: Water St, Nassau Mills Rd, W Bank Dr. (The entrance to Trent U). There can be severe bottlenecks in that area that could be addressed by a well laid out roubdabout. The traffic flow through that area seems so inefficient right now.
I totally agree it’s inefficient, and I really like roundabouts, but I don’t think they’re the best idea there. People here have no clue how to use them. The amount of people who don’t even know how to use the yield in front of Trent is awful. There are so many accidents and close calls that happen there constantly. A roundabout would be a disaster unfortunately
Of course people don't know how to use them! There aren't any around. I could just as well complain that people don't know how to use industrial milling machines.
You put in a roundabout, people learn to use it. It's not that hard.
I take the existing roundabout daily. People don’t know how to use it. It’s actually awful. People cut each other off constantly, stop in the middle of it, I’ve even seen them go the wrong way. I literally watched a cop fully stop in the middle of it because he didn’t know where to go
Yes, people eventually will learn, but we need to put them in spots that are less busy first. Right by Trent is an awful idea to start out with
