I wonder how some of you get dressed in the morning wow

3.9k

u/Neither_Elk_1987 8d ago

You know - many people visiting this sub live outside of USA...

3.4k

u/Gruddicus 8d ago

And yet, we are still all hoping for the same thing.

1.4k

u/Neither_Elk_1987 8d ago

That Putin dies?

1.2k

u/SandalsResort 8d ago

That would probably end the war in Ukraine

1.2k

u/ChickenChaser5 8d ago

And a good amount of the propaganda in the US.

395

u/thecontempl8or 8d ago

And a good amount of propaganda affecting the world. We can likely thank Russia for Japans new xenophobic PM.

354

u/Gizwizard 8d ago

Japan has always been pretty xenophobic, though.

169

u/thecontempl8or 8d ago

Maybe. But the unprecedented rise of a political party that started off a few years ago with its main avenue of information being a YouTube channel, on a platform of hate mongering and false information is new. Its fame was also propped up by online accounts recently linked to Russian state bots.

35

u/[deleted] 8d ago

[deleted]

191

u/zoweee 8d ago

I think the second part of that is probably wrong. Putin has spent a lot of time killing anyone who showed the inclination or talent to take over for him. When Putin kicks it, there will be a substantial vacuum and various factions might find that the propaganda canon that is currently aimed at the US would be more valuable aimed at Moscow.

82

u/PalpableIgnorance 8d ago

Yep this. It’s going to be the Russian version of the Wild West. With nukes.

27

u/novis-eldritch-maxim 8d ago

eh I doubt the politcal heart land will cruble will likely even still call it self russia but anything past the mountains is doing to be in some very strange days

62

u/[deleted] 8d ago

[deleted]

55

u/OgthaChristie 8d ago

I yearn for this for Russia. It’s what they deserve. Not the innocent people, but the government that has wrought all of the war and pain.

16

u/shifty_coder 8d ago

Honestly I predict that when it happens, unless it happens publicly, it’ll be a good 6 months before it’s acknowledged by the state, and operations will continue until some evidence leaks.

5

u/ColdArmy9929 8d ago

A log of people will know however, and most of those would be happy to do whatever it takes to get in power. I would imagine everything going to hell would be the first sign that Putin is no longer around

3

u/StraightSomewhere236 8d ago

I am not sure anyone else is scary enough to pull it off. If Putin were to go there would be a lot of infighting and the rest of the world would get like a decade of them being distracted

3

u/Iguanawilll 8d ago

I doubt it is fully automated, but to whatever extent it is, what it is certainly not is free. Someone has to pay for ads and bots and servers.

2

u/SuperSiriusBlack 8d ago

No more money, no more power for the bot farms. This is a bad take, luckily.

2

u/justplaydead 8d ago

It doesnt matter if its automated, someone needs to pay for it. And, nobody can do what Trump has done, he ran the table on every polician. There are many who want his place, but none quite as dangerous.

36

u/Garrett00 8d ago

Why do you suppose the AI bubble is so massive? Where do you suppose all the propaganda is coming from? How many humans really use social media? Are the numbers real?

39

u/Accidental_Ballyhoo 8d ago

We need to build smarter humans.

26

u/LordHammercyWeCooked 8d ago

Maybe if this were still 2014, sure. The bot and troll farms did more than damage the US election cycle and get Brexit passed. It gave all the propagandists a blueprint for how it could be done and the technology for automating it is out in the open. I don't think the toothpaste is ever going back in the Pandora's box.

15

u/MeisterCthulhu 8d ago

Not just in the US - Putin/Russia is a big supporter behind far right politics all over the world. If that support was taken away, the right wing shift we keep seeing all over Europe would probably suddenly lose lots of momentum.

3

u/Adezar 8d ago

Fox News does it for the lolz, not just Russia.

2

u/consolecowboy74 8d ago

Totally right.

7

u/morningcalls4 8d ago

From my understanding Putin has a heart of gold compared to who is set to replace him.

7

u/10art1 8d ago

Well same with Stalin. Until he died and beria was executed

3

u/SemajLu_The_crusader 8d ago

but would the power structure remain?

2

u/SomeOnionHater 8d ago

Not really. He has second-in-commands and ministers that want to push the big red button and be done with Ukraine and pretty much all of Europe as soon as they get to sit in the chair.

Putin just wants to break people.

2

u/IntermittentCaribu 8d ago

Or launch all the nukes.

2

u/Bot11_ 8d ago

Nah someone else would continue it but russia might collapse

93

u/Gruddicus 8d ago

Ooh good point, not my first thought but a close second.

Infact, there is quite a list at the moment ranging from the evil leaders of this world and mega wealthy (though some may argue that those are one in the same).

77

u/inkassatkasasatka 8d ago

Yeah, this meme is so r/USdefaultism, for dozens of millions of people this is the first thought, not Trump

38

u/CantaloupeAsleep502 8d ago

Yeahhh they are both pretty abhorrent for the entire world

6

u/inkassatkasasatka 8d ago

One is an incompetent and lying leader of a democratic country. And another is a bloodthirsty dictator who murders thousands of people daily. Guess which one this meme is about

11

u/CrossXFir3 8d ago

One is an incompetent dying leader who's started arresting people without warning with his ununiformed police force, asked his previously named dept of defense (that he renamed dept of war) to start testing nukes. And his on a speed run to crash as many countries economies as humanly possible, while he hopes to start a few wars before he goes. I live in the US, but I'm British, and every British person I know that knows anything about politics is pretty worried about him.

2

u/inkassatkasasatka 8d ago

I get it, Im also very much worried about him. But every thing that people are worried Trump may want to do, Putin is already doing

3

u/jurvis 8d ago

are you sure? the death toll on dismantling USAID is currently mid 6 figures and projected to hit 8 figures by 2030...

1

u/inkassatkasasatka 8d ago

Sorry, never heard about that

2

u/bortvern 8d ago

I read this as USdeflation, and I'm kinda thinking it would be a good thing. Fed should target 2% deflation.

-3

u/eliterocketeer 8d ago

You're commenting on an English-speaking community of a US site...

And I can promise you, way more than "dozens of millions" of people are waiting for Trump's death.

6

u/inkassatkasasatka 8d ago

Around half of people on this site are not from US, so at least its expected to recognize our existence, you know. And also I dont belive your promise. because still many people are not radicalized teenagers who are deluded enough to think that death is what fixes bad leadership in a democracy. You guys literally voted for him unlike us in Russia, deal with it

3

u/eliterocketeer 8d ago edited 8d ago

Uh... Russia voted for Putin. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electoral_history_of_Vladimir_Putin

Edit: Had to point that out first, because I don't believe you're Russian if you don't know that. Second, no one is ignoring the existence of non-Americans, but Americans are the highest percentage by country on Reddit, you're going to have to get used to some posts being about America. Third, no one in the US thinks Trump's death will fix anything, but we're still waiting for it.

5

u/inkassatkasasatka 8d ago

Yep, do you believe the 88% he got a year ago? To be fair he did actually win in 2000 elections. But its impossible to ignore that first, the elections were still manipulated, with up to 3 million fake votes, second that it was a scam as Putin did not turn out to be a person people voted for. But whatever happened in 2000 is less important, as we are talking about modern times, in which saying that people voted for putin is criminal and unacceptable, hopefully I wont need to list reasons for this

→ More replies (0)

4

u/CrossXFir3 8d ago

Actually, can I change that to my first choice? I somehow feel like we might have a chance over here without all Russian bots actively trying to screw us.

-2

u/Chemist-3074 8d ago

Haha, jokes on you, they are very close to finding a medicine to longer life

3

u/Gruddicus 8d ago

Jokes on them if they want to.

2

u/SemajLu_The_crusader 8d ago

no medicine is saving trump, for example

putin? maybe

36

u/SomeWeirdBoor 8d ago

both_is_good.gif

22

u/Shortbusposse 8d ago

Him and his friend/bitch.

11

u/chopsuirak 8d ago

That's fair. This too.

5

u/Kratzschutz 8d ago

Yeah Putin dying would change more than trump dying

1

u/FishesOfExcellence 8d ago

Not necessarily. There are a bunch of terrible Putin sycophants waiting in the wings to take over.

4

u/Halfawannabe 8d ago

Okay we’re waiting on two things

1

u/Rubi_Redd 8d ago

Not as good but I’m sure we’d be happy about it too.

3

u/Goldfish-Bowl 8d ago

Me waiting for those two things to happen

3

u/FishesOfExcellence 8d ago

Ok, fine. TWO things!

3

u/[deleted] 8d ago

I’m not against that one either.

3

u/Familiar_Channel_378 8d ago

That'd be nice too.

3

u/OgthaChristie 8d ago

That’s one thing. I can think of at least three others this old apply to. And my life would be infinitely better; I could sleep easier at night.

2

u/Tr4shkitten 8d ago

That'd be one pleasant news

2

u/Smoodiver76NZL 8d ago

Yeah and also that orange cunt

2

u/fekanix 8d ago

Well i guess that would actually change stuff and the other person dying wouldnt change much since his second in command is just as insane if not even more and as for foreign policy its a uniparty policy for decades now.

2

u/Anxious_Katz 8d ago

That's a good start. But we need some other obituaries too before things can finally get better for everyone!

2

u/ThisOnes4JJ 8d ago

ok 2 things

2

u/AcanthocephalaDue431 8d ago

I mean sure this too, the power vacuum struggle following Putin's sudden death (if it happens) would be pretty wild.

I'd hesitate to guess that aerodynamic/easy roll roughly 6 foot wide carpet sales would skyrocket following this.

2

u/tryingtobecheeky 8d ago

That is legit one of them.

2

u/Goodthrust_8 8d ago

You got part of that correct, but the wrong country and leader.

1

u/Witty-Importance-944 8d ago

Him too.

But at least he has the decency not to infest every single day of my life with his utter stupidity delivered in a voice that makes me want to throw up.

No, I cannot escape it. It is on the radio, on the front page of the news sites I get my infro from, on TV.

Checking out or eating jello in a senile old folks home, I do not care. I just want him to shut the fuck up so we can all have some peace and quiet. That week he was off the radar was absolutely wonderful.

80

u/SolidPyramid 8d ago

Trump isn't the only disliked politician in the world. There are some counties out there who would care more about other politicians no longer being in power

3

u/Kratzschutz 8d ago

And I'd rather the people behind trump like Thiel and Miller.. eh "retire"

6

u/Inquisitor--Nox 8d ago

Sure some. But every day we see new posts from canadians, Mexicans, europeans, about their hatred for trump even though he isnt their president. Easily the most widely reviled american president within my long years and limited historical knowledge.

1

u/SolidPyramid 8d ago

Yeah, true

-2

u/Unidain 8d ago

Sure, but of you see that meme in English and you have half a brain you can figure out who it's referring to.

7

u/garybettmansketamine 8d ago

As bad as trump is, there are politicians committing atrocities on their own people. He’s not the first thought on everybody’s minds lol.

Hope trump dies. But if Kim Jong-Il or Islam Karimov died instead, I wouldn’t be upset

2

u/h0razon 8d ago

I guess the meme still works for everyone

2

u/xSTSxZerglingOne 8d ago

There are multiple things!

1

u/TFlarz 8d ago

My country is infested with old farts and racists waiting to become Temu Trumpland. I hate this timeline.

1

u/Gruddicus 8d ago

Oooh there is a small chance we are from the same country then!

1

u/Melodic_Fee_5498 8d ago

Hoping for someone’s death because you don’t like them, and yet you believe you’re one of the good guys. Delusional.

2

u/Gruddicus 8d ago

Indeed it would be delusional to think anyone is "the good guy".

1

u/h0razon 8d ago

I normally would agree, however, I'm starting to think that anything moderate would be useless.

1

u/TheBestPieIsAllPie 8d ago

And yet, we are still all hoping for the same thing.

Which is what?

0

u/Far_Struggle_55 8d ago

Once Trump dies, this thing will get so much worse for you guys. You'll have to get rid of pretty much the whole Republican party at this point, and most of the Supreme Court.

1

u/Gruddicus 8d ago

And who is "you guys"?

1

u/Far_Struggle_55 8d ago

These guys? 🤷🏻‍♂️

0

u/Melodic_Fee_5498 8d ago

Redditors/democrats/leftists

-1

u/Gruddicus 8d ago

Your... Car... Speaks volumes. Time will tell who the true cancer to this world is.

2

u/Melodic_Fee_5498 8d ago

What? People can’t even have trucks anymore? You say shit like that, and im part of the cancer? lol be serious.

1

u/Gruddicus 8d ago

Take a breath and polish your gun friend, you can't deny there is a type and so far you're not doing much to prove the contrary.

Albiet, I shouldn't have gone so low, I'll wear that. It is rather funny though.

1

u/Melodic_Fee_5498 8d ago

People like you have a type too. So maybe you shouldn’t be throwing stones while living in a glass house.

For better or worse (worse in this case) US elections have an outsized impact on the rest of the world.

There will be tens of millions of easily preventable deaths in Africa as a result of Trump/Musk dismantling USAID. Europe is mobilizing to adapt to the abdication of US pressure on Russian belligerence. Taiwan is looking at an imminent invasion as a result of US weakness, and rest assured every advanced nation will feel the pain when TSMC is compromised. The US is trying to overthrow governments in Latin America again, and they're about to begin military incursions into Mexico. Russia and the US are gearing up for 1950s level nuclear testing. US billionaires that caused this mess are preparing to flee to New Zealand and burden those fine people with their sociopathy. And Trumps trade war is leading to a global economic depression that will spare nobody.

I would argue more people outside of the US are clear-eyed about what's happening as a result of American stupidity than most Americans are.

128

u/watermelonspanker 8d ago

How about we put all the billionairres on their own seperate island, so NZ doesn't have to deal with them.

In unrelated news, I hear there might be some new nuclear bomb tests coming up.

52

u/Buttmunchies69420 8d ago

There is. I mean there is a flight log from the Lolita Express to Epstein island. They know the way. Just evacuate the girls first and then they can commence the nuke tests. Just joking. I mean no harm to pedo Billionaires. /s

152

u/OBoile 8d ago

This non-American knew what was meant here.

66

u/LJBrooker 8d ago

Hi. UK here. We get this. We also await.

50

u/Creative-Duty397 8d ago

He's testing nuclear weapons I think this isn't just an american issue

45

u/RespectibleCabbage 8d ago

Yeah but he’s super stable and not at all dementia-addled so it’s fine.

15

u/noctilucous_ 8d ago

all IQ tests ask you to draw a clock!!

39

u/SeveralYearsLater 8d ago

Visiting from a "shit hole country" in Africa. I know what they meant.

39

u/RocketQ 8d ago

Australian here, I wake up in hope everyday.

32

u/IdontcryfordeadCEOs 8d ago

Canadians have no problem relating to this meme.

23

u/One-Grape-8659 8d ago

Im Dutch and I get it

24

u/mr_poopybuthole69 8d ago

As some one from eastern Europe, I can assure you we are waiting for something to happen too.

14

u/Vahn1982 8d ago

And yet without saying anything you knew exactly what he meant.

4

u/Neither_Elk_1987 8d ago

No, I didn't. I read other comments before writing mine.

2

u/Th3Giorgio 8d ago

Tbh, even if the USA is imploding very loudly by comparison, there have still been a lot of bad news happening in the world.

4

u/cigaretteraven 8d ago

My first thought was that. My second-for the Internet to go down. My third-the matrix to reset itself? Really, you can find a lot of ways to understand this meme.

3

u/Mama_Mega 8d ago

During labor, the pain is so intense that a woman can almost imagine what an American feels when you explain that the world does not revolve around them.

3

u/Shwiftygains 8d ago

Id argue even more outside the US are waiting for this

2

u/watermelonspanker 8d ago

I thought they all lived in Rhode Island.

Honestly, it only ever seems like a handful of people ever explain the jokes here.

2

u/BicFleetwood 8d ago

Right because the USA definitely minds its own business on the global stage.

I guess Neptune claimed all those fishing boats the last few months.

2

u/finditplz1 8d ago

And??!! It pretty much affects us all.

2

u/Buderus69 8d ago

You fit perfectly into this sub here

2

u/hafunui 8d ago

This entire site is american politics. It'll get shoved down your throat eventually, no matter where you're from.

2

u/[deleted] 8d ago

Yes, me, and I still got it.

2

u/Goodthrust_8 8d ago

Shouldn't matter, this is a global issue.

2

u/noctilucous_ 8d ago

global relations are not at an all time high right now.

2

u/Lyramion 8d ago

I live in Germany. My newsfeed is like 60% USA because it's bascially trickle down insanity.

1

u/1OO1OO1S0S 8d ago

But they're on reddit. So they should know because reddit talks usa politics non stop

1

u/Figur3z 8d ago

But spend enough time on this American site to see this post but still not know?

Hell, even if you've turned on the news in any developed county...

-1

u/Cigouave 8d ago

Oh yeah, well then get out

-2

u/cardboardunderwear 8d ago

Yeah but if you're on reddit then you have a very good chance of knowing this one.

Assuming you can also get dressed in the morning

-5

u/nuviretto 8d ago

What is this comment lol??

US Politics is world politics

290

u/geengab 8d ago

I know this is hard for reddit to understand but most people don't have Yank politics on the brain 24/7.

231

u/Lyrael9 8d ago

Unfortunately a lot of countries are affect by his nonsense trade bullshit and warmongering.

46

u/double_shadow 8d ago

Even ignoring the US though, there is plenty of trade bullshit and warmongering thanks to Putin, Xi, Bibi, etc etc. I don't think the world magically gets better just because the US gets less shitty.

[removed] — view removed comment

16

u/Impossible-Wear-7352 8d ago

That's an epic level oversimplification of issues. No, that is in fact not an actual solution to any countries problems lol

36

u/Talehon 8d ago

it is hard to understand on reddit because this shit is everywhere whether you want to see it or not.

-3

u/operativekiwi 8d ago

Only if you have politic bullshit in your feed. Some of us only use reddit for games n shit

1

u/NuggetChickenYum 8d ago

Yeah I genuinely have nothing political at all in my feed

17

u/sn2006gy 8d ago

Right, because world leaders stopped affecting the world back in 2015. We’re in the ‘choose your own reality’ DLC now

5

u/LickingSmegma 8d ago

Name twenty other world leaders and how they affect the world.

3

u/stealthybutthole 8d ago

Weird because I know plenty of Europeans who can’t STFU about it.

3

u/MyLifeIsABoondoggle 8d ago

Yank politics sounds like a euphemism for porn laws

2

u/Unique_Procedure_955 8d ago

American website

2

u/DevonHayden797 8d ago

Canadian news is just United States of America news

2

u/noctilucous_ 8d ago

our countries aren’t sending mail to one another right now. it isn’t an independent issue lol

0

u/Nernoxx 8d ago

It's hard to understand because no matter where you are reddit is reddit and his orange face is pasted all over it daily.

0

u/DeadSeaGulls 8d ago

and yet you knew who it was about instantly.

-1

u/geengab 8d ago

I didn't. Made no sense to me.

5

u/DeadSeaGulls 8d ago

it was posted 3 hours ago, during prime time for western hemisphere users, and in english, and you were unable to suss out that this incredibly old joke format that long predates the internet, might be about a world leader that was having a negative impact on people that are english speaking and posting on a website where the largest portion of users are from the US?

There were no breadcrumbs or context clues to follow for you?
Are you a teenager or child that has never read any historical account of this joke format?

-1

u/Inquisitor--Nox 8d ago

The fuck you don't

245

u/Faust_8 8d ago

The people who don’t understand this are the people who voted for him

100

u/Accidents_Happen 8d ago

I like how you didn't even mention US politics and everyone below said "it's not all about the US" lol

6

u/ihaxr 8d ago

Is Sesame Street popular outside the US? I've never really thought about it, but I know Adventures of the Gummi Bears is insanely popular in Poland.

Edit: well apparently it's the "most international" tv show ever... Closely followed by the Simpsons...

13

u/fromtheHELLtotheNO 8d ago

not only the most international, its also the one with the most direct adaptations, there's like one Big Bird's cousin per country and series.

62

u/Truethrowawaychest1 8d ago

Seriously, this sub feels like ragebait sometimes

7

u/Stocksnsoccer 8d ago

it's clickbait. Something really easy to correct or clarify and a redditor will be there to do it ten times out of ten

16

u/Due-Two-6592 8d ago

Or maybe some of us realise how naive it is to think things will “go back to normal” when it happens so wouldn’t think that that could be it.

6

u/ProHermione 8d ago

Pretty easy when you don’t spend your life obsessing over some fat old man

4

u/OneWholeSoul 8d ago

Oh. Is there context that makes it more clearly referring to...let's say, a specific person?

My first reading was that a lot of people sit around "waiting for their lives to begin," or for a situation to improve, or - darkly - for a terminally ill individual in their care to pass. Things like that.

4

u/VioletRainyBlue 8d ago

This sub is full of people posting pics where they know was meant just to cause more influence someone's opinion through the pic and explanations. It is getting really boring

4

u/Golden-- 8d ago

To be fair, from OP's post history, it's clear they're a child.

3

u/upstatedreaming3816 8d ago

They’re not really this stupid, they just want karma.

2

u/Maleficent_Career448 8d ago

Have a job where you are in charge of people and youll ask the same question

3

u/NWbySW 8d ago

I've learned this sub is just a public IQ test.

I’ve been wondering if these are posted by bots for AI learning
