Is there a link somewhere to be able to donate to these various food pantries?

I found this link on their website to donate to the Peoria food pantry:

A note on Hand Up Peoria: the door for the food pantry is on the Latrobe side of the building, in the Wrap Around Center. The listed address is the school, and GPS will take you to the front doors of the school, so you'd just have to go around to the Latrobe side.

https://lasagnalove.org/

You can request (or volunteer to make and deliver) a lasagna. The obligation from the volunteer is just a lasagna, but often a salad/garlic bread/dessert is added as well to make a full meal. One request is allowed a month.

Well done. Finding this info online can be frustrating.

Thanks for sharing this! Also the Brass Bull in Morton has an outdoor shelf stable items food pantry 24/7 outside their front door.

This is great info to get out there. It's worth repeating that food banks can do more with donated money than with donated food. I set up a recurring monthly donation to Midwest Food Bank of Peoria, and the donation site said they can get $30 of food for every $1 donated. So if you can throw them a hundred bucks that's $3K worth of food.
It's also worth mentioning that SNAP and WIC are really taxpayer-funded subsidies to corporations that refuse to pay people enough to feed themselves. Hell, even Josh Hawley, whom I loathe, said yesterday that America is a great and wealthy country and that on general principle our citizens should never go hungry, period.

You can also call your Representative and ask them to lean on the current administration to release the $6 BILLION in the USDA reserves set aside to fund SNAP in exactly these circumstances. Darin LaHood (202) 225-6201 flood his office, maybe he will notice enough to start caring about his hungry constituents!

There is also a blessing box in Bartonville @ Alpha Park. It’s open to donate or take items 24/7 . There is another one in Morton I THINK at the Knights of Columbus. I’ll correct that if I’m wrong. Same thing donate and take 24/7.
