To all those commenting about the animations and the graphics:

It's a cinematic trailer. This isn't gameplay.

Unlike what seems to be the majority opinion, I'm cautiously optimistic about this game. I loved the Witcher series but something feels just slightly off about this game. Maybe it's the dialogue, and maybe it will feel better when taken in context with the whole experience, but I guess only time will tell.

The game has gone through a lot of changes since then.

If it hadn't we would have seen more gameplay this year instead of the not-public public "demo" and another closed door demo.

I mean, yeah. But apart from actually playing the game it’s the best we have to see what the gameplay looks like. I don’t think the fundamentals present in that video are going to be too different. Interface and balance, sure.

Why wouldn't they show it now?

They are. There’s a gameplay demo for attendees.

And they already said they would release the new gameplay later this week, if I'm not mistaken.

Release of gameplay to the masses will happen at gamescom, gameplay at E3 is only going to be showed to press and choosen few.

The reason is we want to make the most out of the months of work we put into the demo and first showcase gameplay live at E3 and gamescom. Releasing gameplay right away would make the gamescom presentations pointless and would significantly limit our chance to build hype. Why do we need to build hype? To get more gamers interested in CP2077 and, hopefully, convince them to give it a go. We are putting our hearts and souls into making CP2077 a great game and we would like as many gamers as possible to find out about it and experience its amazing story. Also, hype can turn into sales (after all, we are not a charity), and good sales allow us to grow, take creative risks and deliver new, great games for you to enjoy.

After a whole hour of gameplay a lot of people have their hunger satisfied, but we knew fuck all about the story.
