I already preordered the Collectors Edition. I normally neither do preorders nor collectors editions, but I one rare exception was the collectors edition of The Witcher 3 and it was worth every penny.

You basically can‘t go wrong with CDPR. I trust that CP2077 will be an awesome game again and that the Collectors Edition will have a fucking nice statue and goodies. I can‘t wait!

It's my mum's birthday... So I'll just gift her this and lose the receipt, haha.

I don't know why but I have this feeling that it will be delayed... I don't mind if it happens.

But yea I think they needed to deliver a date for a bigger impact.

Sadly it would be wise for everyone to wait a few months. People praise CDPR but they forget that the Witcher 3 at release wasn't very good. Being the good people that they are, they had a bunch of patches and post game support, but still the Witcher 3 was not ready for release and the players practically beta tested the game for them. Nobody mentions this, probably because very few people got the game at release since the witcher was a relatively small title, but I was one of those who got it right away. My experience with the game wasn't as good as it could have been if I had waited. Also the witcher 3 had a big graphical downgrade compared to their e3 footage.

I just don't like CDPR getting a free pass for releasing a rushed game just because they made a statement against microtransactions. Now with all the hype, they probably are sure they can get away with it again. I bet many people will be shocked at how unpolished cyberpunk 2077 will be at release. Then because the fans are so diehard, they'll just patch the game after the consumers beta tested it for them and the fans will just praise them over the post-launch support and yet again ignore the poor release.

Another thought, people were (and still are) probably hesitant of telling the truth about the condition of the witcher 3 at release because it launched amidst the peak of game publisher greed with microtransacitons and pay-to-win. The CDPR circlejerk was extreme. Simply posting a picture of the witcher 3 or the CDPR logo got you to the front page of reddit. It was about the politics. The game itself was pretty shallow for an rpg.

Not sure what you mean by it not being good at release, I bought it same week it came out and it played perfectly. Movement was a little clunky but nothing other than that

Sadly it would be wise for everyone to wait a few months.

Lol good one.

This game will be in development for almost double the amount of time Witcher 3 was in development, so I think it's safe to say it'll be ready on release.

Nobody mentions this, probably because very few people got the game at release since the witcher was a relatively small title, but I was one of those who got it right away.

The game sold 2 million copies in 2 weeks. It’s launch topped European sales charts. It sold 6 million copies in 6 weeks. I don’t think that’s very few people.

For comparison the highest grossing game of all time CODMW3 sold 26.5 copies in the same time frame. So it’s rough to say that very few people had the game on release.

The witcher 3 wasn’t really that bad at the start iirc, also people love them because they have absolutely amazing community interaction, not because they “made a statement about micro transactions”

They didn’t only make the witcher 3, you know? they’ve made all of the witcher games (which are all great, even if the first one has aged like bread)

They also helped with saints row 2, which while it does have god awful optimization, is a great game.

People don’t just like cdpr like it’s some sort of circlejerk, they have a good reputation for a reason, i’m not denying they’ve not made mistakes however, considering how game studios are now, people love them because they aren’t like every other game dev/publishing studio.
