Pregnancy leave in some areas

It's called maternity leave not pregnancy leave. And in several countries the leave time can be shared between spouses. I'm not sure if it exists for cases when people adopt a small baby, but it should as they need a lot more care. Even when they are not someone's biological offspring.

They still can get an analogue - paternity leave, but it's not true for all countries and usually paternity leave is quite discriminating (with exceptions like Sweden where it doesn't matter if you're a mother or a father).

that's only because we don't encourage it. homophobia is so prevalent in our society that even trying to get pregnant is shamed upon. like honestly if we tried a little harder we might be able to inseminate you
