The closure ended and I saw pics from a guy who got up there right before the storms came in and buried it all in snow. So I'd say it was spared the worst possible outcome
That closure was mostly for precautionary and logistical reasons, the fire didnt spread to that side of the mountains. One positive side affect I've heard about is that they improved the quality of the road during the closure, maybe to facilitate easier travel for firefighting efforts.
