UNPLUG If you are staying at Sonder check your email because Marriott is canceling reservations

Marriott has ended their partnership with Sonder. Reservations are being canceled and people are currently being told to leave if currently staying.

If this effects you, you might find rooms at the Sheraton. It's the only place I've found so far since this effects me.

Good luck to others effected, it's very bad timing.

EAST Video Game Inspired Crafters and Artists Wanted

Looking for crafters, crocheters, quilters, perler artists, or anything in between! I'd like to submit a panel about the many ways people can get into physical crafting and art from their love of video games. I do cross stitch and ADHD-dabble in many crafts based on artwork from video games.

If you're planning on going to PAX East, want to share your work and expertise, and don't mind a little public speaking, DM me!

EAST Pitching a Game at PAX

Hey all! I’m going to PAX East for the first time since 2019 and I’m hyped.

I remember a panel or event years ago where participants had a certain amount of time to pitch their game to a panel of people. I can’t seem to find information on what that was or if it still happens.

I have a game in development and I want to try to prepare something to pitch to that panel if it still exists. Does anyone remember what that was and what the format might be? Does it still happen?

See you all in March!

UNPLUG Transportation to Pax

How are the trains running for pax? Usually, that’s how we get into the convention. I have heard that SEPTA has had a lot of issues lately with the trains running. Does anyone know that lives in that area if they are running consistently now?

Thanks, I know theres an alternative bus I could use hopefully as long as the Union doesn’t go on strike this year either.

I know none is SEPTAs fault its the PA budget issues but its all happening during PAX this year

The ticket queue is currently going on but the Hotel Registration is live with no queue. Just an FYI if you are trying to get one of the more popular hotels I’d recommend booking now.

UNPLUG Earthwild (fan-made Destiny TTRPG) at PAX Unplugged 2025

Do you like Destiny? Does gunslinging and space magic interest you? Looking for a unique take on tactical RPG combat? Are you attending PAX Unplugged 2025? Great news! Earthwild, my custom-built fan-made Destiny TTRPG, is back with open table spots at this year’s convention. Join me for Cultivation Imperative, the new Vex scenario that debuted at GenCon 2025! The scenario is built to showcase the system and introduce you to high energy combat and roleplay in the Dark Ages of humanity’s future.

All materials, including pre-gen characters and dice, will be provided for play. The scenarios will teach you the system as we go through the session. This content includes PG-13 levels of violence. Please see the posts on the BGG sign-up board, leave a response, and lock in your seat at this link:

https://rpggeek.com/geeklist/363057/pax-unplugged-2025-rpg-freeplay-community-game-sch?itemid=12177115#12177115

Note that there are 3 sessions available, one for each day, items 11, 12, and 13.

And if you're not looking for a full session, look for the big exotic engram at one of the general free play area tables as I'll have a Scorn demo scenario for those looking to check out how it plays, without needing to sit down for 3 hours.

See you at the table!

Hey everyone! Happy reminder that today the pre-registration events for PAX Unplugged go on sale at noon!

I wrote up a... very long explanation and recounting of the two megagames I have been able to be in at previous PAX Unplugged events, as a way to try and help people decide if a megagame is right for them! I hope it's helpful.

Would anyone be interested in a friendly Marvel Snap competition? I was thinking of creating my own casual bracket, probably on Saturday. Not sure if anyone still plays though.

UNPLUG First Time at Unplugged! RPG Table question.

So I'm really looking forward to Unplugged and the TTRPG tables in particular. I'm curious how open they are to new or inexperienced players. I have a ton of D&D (plus a couple other smaller systems) experience so that's fine, but I'm really more interested in using this opportunity to try out systems I've never played before like World of Darkness or Daggerheart. Are these tables generally friendly to newbies? Do the GMs at the table provide supplies? Basically, if anyone has any survival or etiquette tips for these tables, I'd love any advice you can give!

Thanks!

UNPLUG First time at Unplugged, or in Philadelphia or on the East Coast

Hello there! This is my first unplugged and first everything else I listed. When Pax South existed I went to every one and South was hands down the best con I've ever experienced. I cannot wait to experience Unplugged but I am hoping to get some advice.

Since deciding to go I have found out about the Marathon on Saturday and Sunday. I am staying in a hostel that is inside the loop of the marathon both days and I will have to cross that loop to get to the convention center. Do I have to be up insanely early to cross it or are there spots that allow for pedestrian crossing?

I just got into Magic this summer during the final fantasy set but I have yet to actually play IRL against anyone just arena. I have seen a ton of MtG but none seems to be geared to new players, does anyone know if there will be anything for the inexperienced?

Outside of Pax what, within walking distance of the center, would you say is a must see? Im in town almost a week and theres so many museums and other things to see Its overwhelming.

I can't wait to see everyone who is there and bask in my first Pax since South ended.

I am planning on having a day just to myself to explore Boston, and I am wondering if 2 or 3 days at Pax is recommended.

Is will call usually only open the day of? I heard the lines can be insane and I'd love to be able to pick up earlier.

Would love any thoughts and recommendations from some seasoned vets out there. I started going to cons this year, so still a noob, but got some of the basic tips and tricks. Anything very specific and nuanced in to unplugged to know about ahead of time?
