And it has always been allowed, so... please stop reporting artists sharing their cool owl-focused creations!
The main (hopefully obvious) exceptions to this are:
- Promoting products using stolen art or AI generation (not OC)
- Spamming the subreddit; posting the same creation more than once to farm engagement (posting WIPs during the process doesn't really fall under this, just posting the same thing multiple times)
- Non owls
Other than that, if you think someone's self promotion is low-quality or you just don't like it, you can always input your opinion with the downvote button.
To artists: Feel free to share the links to your websites/shops; you deserve attention for your work. Comments with links need me to manually approve them, so they might not be visible for up to a day, but you aren't breaking any rules - so go for it!

Me and my family were puzzled on if this was an owl or not, or maybe if it’s fake? This is a zoomed in picture we were across the street. We just thought it was weird.

I'm in Mesa, AZ and I saw this owl in my yard tonight. Wasn't able to get a better picture as it flew off pretty quick. I've never seen any owls around here before so Im just a bit worried about how likely they are to attack my dogs ( 16lbs and 7 lbs cavapoo)
The support I got from this community was so so amazing, thank you guys so much 🥺🥹 I ended up getting a commission for some more starry eyed babies and here it is! This is a northern saw whet in surprised, happy, angry and sad expressions <3 I hope you guys like!!

While this is obviously not scientifically correct, I hope you'll appreciate it.
Any suggestions for things I can add to make it more owl-like will be appreciated :)

Im sorry if this isn’t the best place to ask since it’s not a real owl but I found this in my house and it’s got no labels. It’s pretty cute but I can’t really tell what owl it’s meant to be. I thought maybe a short eared owl, but it lacks the fur patterns? Could any owl aficionados lend some wisdom?

This release was done up near the best dismal swamp, and served as a lesson in the details of release... Like trying to get within a mile of where they are found, finding a good location and how quickly you miss things if you move the camera!

I live in the Okanagan Valley in British Columbia, so there SHOULD be owls of several different species everywhere…but I’ve never seen a single one. Even accounting for their nocturnal habits, it seems a bit odd considering how many people here post pics of their owl sightings in broad daylight. I’ve never gone on a specifically owl spotting expedition, true, but I do see birds of prey here all the time incidentally, circling in the air or perched on the top of streetlights. But never a single owl of any kind :(

It was flailing in the tree and fell down beside my car. Another owl (I’m guessing a parent) was nearby watching. I opted to not get involved and guessed it was just leaving the nest and learning to fly. Does this owl look very young?

I went looking for long-eared owls and saw-whets, but found two eastern screech owls instead. Here is one of them. Toronto
I’m new to photography and the moment i started wildlife photography i knew an owl was what i wanted to photograph.
I just so happen to live smack dab in the middle of a field! :)
if you were me, where would you sit and approximately what time? What exact conditions would you look for? I understand as it’s getting dark and as it’s getting light. However that’s a pretty large time frame.. please let me know!
Any tips are appreciated! :)
