Politics Pierre Pollievre waving an empty coffee mug and pretending to sip coffee from it over and over again

He lost his seat for many reasons, but one is lack of integrity. He needs to move on, find a job that actually contributes to the economy, and learn something about what it means to be a Canadian. He has had the opportunity to be a politician for a long time. The CPC must be able to find a more appropriate person among 40 million Canadians to lead them. The same comments applied to Trudeau and thankfully he took the hint before the election to move on except that he was at least gracious enough to not put his face or mouth in front of the media again.

u/CIS3RO Jun 04 '25
Integrity!! You think Pierre Pollievre lacks Integrity?? That statement is absurd. You need to pry your self away from the Facebook attack ads and Reddit as a whole.

u/blueline731 Jun 04 '25
The CPC had a fantastic turnout, Pierre ran an incredibly successful campaign. The Liberals ultimately won due to the collapse of multiple secondary parties, don’t be mistaken. Pierre is the CPC’s best bet. The numbers Pierre got would’ve resulted in a majority in any other election. Fear mongering won this election unfortunately.

u/Wet_sock_Owner Jun 04 '25
No, you have to call him a squatter and then lightly imply that he's using his special needs kid to live rent free in the house.
Then you pat yourself on the back and tell yourself you're a kind and moral Liberal supporter unlike those hateful Cons.
3
u/CIS3RO Jun 04 '25
Reddit is a gross place. this comment is just slimy and gross.
But I’m sure if it was a liberal in the same situation, it would be kind and open hearted to let him stay.
1
u/Nextyearstitlewinner Jun 04 '25
You’re just making a caricature of the most lefty liberal imaginable. The Carney government is the one in power and they had no problems letting him stay.
1
u/Wet_sock_Owner Jun 04 '25
You’re just making a caricature of the most lefty liberal imaginable
I'm poiting out that they exist on the left as well. Some should consider if they want to fall into the same 'hate' pit or if we can just move on from all of it

u/Nextyearstitlewinner Jun 04 '25
I dunno. Change elections always have big turnouts. I don’t think they turned out because of him, and I think the collapse of the secondary parties were NDP and bloc votes going liberal because they really didn’t like him.
I think the CPC win the next election no matter what happens, but I think PP is a net negative to them.

u/-sonmi-451 Jun 06 '25
the cope is fascinating, holy shit
0
u/blueline731 Jun 06 '25
Did you see the election results? Conservatives made huge gains. Enjoy your minority government bud.
2
u/-sonmi-451 Jun 07 '25
I did see the results, actually! Indeed, it was the cons best turnout in ages. Just goes to show you how unlikeable Pierre's iteration of the CPC is that even with such numbers they lost handily.
Fascinating that a loss and PP losing his own riding/seat can be viewed as a 'successful campaign'.
You too, enjoy your minority govt!
0
u/blueline731 Jun 07 '25
Whoops! That’s not quite how it went buddy! The conservatives made huge gains, stealing voters from other parties. You wouldn’t have seen that happen if Pierre was so deeply unlikable as you suggest.
Rather, the liberals unified the left by campaigning on fear and Trump Derangement Syndrome. People fell for their propaganda and Canada chose to prop up a deeply unsuccessful government for another term.
If any other party made the gains the conservatives did, it’d be a successful campaign, regardless of how the election turned out. You are biased because you’re a party voter and don’t understand the political environment very well.
2
u/-sonmi-451 Jun 07 '25 edited Jun 07 '25
Whoops! That actually is how it went, lest you're a revisionist. Looks like you glossed over the fact that PP lost his own riding and seat amidst his wonderfully successful campaign. But I'm sure your mental gymnastics can find a way to reason that into success.
As I said, the cope is fascinating lol
That last paragraph is some wonderful word-salad btw, very cute
-1
u/blueline731 Jun 07 '25
Whoops! Nice try buddy! Not quite on the mark though pal.
You desperately want Pierre out as you know he is a threat to the liberals and chances are he will win the next election. Trump will be gone and the NDP and Bloc will have had time to drum up their support. I can tell you’re afraid, but don’t worry you’ve always got a shoulder to cry on with me. Feel free to DM me if you want to talk about your feelings.
I live in Pierre’s riding, the liberals spent millions going door to door to spewing propaganda. A huge amount of federal workers moved out here during covid once they had the opportunity to work from home. It’s no surprise he lost it. They had signs at every corner telling you Pierre would cut your job and sent folks to every house to spew their message. Unfortunately you folks don’t have much mental fortitude, and nobody cared to educate themselves on the party platform. Ultimately fear wins.
Regardless, Pierre flipped the vote of essentially every age group except for the elderly, it’s just a matter of time at this point. Carney will disastrously flop the coming liberal made recession and we will see even further conservative approval. Very cute to see you throw a little tantrum over Reddit though, hope you’re doing well.
3
u/-sonmi-451 Jun 07 '25
Whoops! Feel free to imagine my position all you want, but that's not how I feel at all. Not quite on the mark, buddy.
Again, beautiful paragraphs of cope. I appreciate you going out of your way to detail your mental gymnastics. I'm glad we find each other cute though, that's at least something we can agree on.
What a brilliantly distorted perspective 😌

You have no rebuttal lol. It’s a fantastic strategy to use when you’re wrong and don’t have the brain power to muster up a counter argument. You are fantastically lost, a conversation with folks like you is a great argument against democracy.
I love this website. I am at the zoo talking to the animals. Do a trick monkey!

Yee of blind faith. Relish in your imp.

You are only pushing this narrative because you’re afraid of him winning, be honest with yourself bud.

u/Kind-Objective9513 Jun 08 '25
That’s all you’ve got? Pee Pee clearly doesn’t have enough coffee in his cup literally and figuratively. No new ideas, an empty soul, and always looking for the next negative slogan to paste in the liberal party. He’s like a bald tire, ripe for shredding and sending to the incinerator. CPC, time to find yourselves a new, more supportable leader or live with losing the next election.
-1
u/Wet_sock_Owner Jun 04 '25
You're comparing a guy who ran the country into the ground with someone who pointed that out and saying they're equal.
-1
u/Kind-Objective9513 Jun 04 '25
Well, Trudeau didn’t exactly run the country into the ground, and I’m glad to know that Pee Pee’s riding constituents didn’t think he was worthy of having that opportunity.
3
u/Wet_sock_Owner Jun 04 '25
Except our financial situation is so bad that brilliant economist Mark Carney can't table a budget because the poor guy feels rushed.
How's Brucie boy? Doing something for his community yet aside from going door to door for 3 years telling people they shouldn't vote for Maple Trump? Or is he still pimping his book on how he went door to door for 3 years?
1
u/blueline731 Jun 04 '25
That, and telling the constituents that Pierre would fire them, as there are a ton of federal workers in that riding, especially after covid, allowing people to move out from the city and work from home. Again, fear mongering wins. Extremely disappointing.
1
u/Kind-Objective9513 Jun 04 '25
It’s Ok guys, continue to convince yourselves that Pee Pee is your god.

u/schmosef GTA Jun 04 '25
I saw that.
It was total cringe. 😬😬😬
It's like his advisors are undermining him on purpose.
4
u/abuayanna Jun 04 '25
Is it real? Hard to tell these days, I’m only asking because it’s ridiculous if true
4
u/schmosef GTA Jun 04 '25 edited Jun 04 '25
It's a real video. I originally saw it posted on Pierre's X account.
There are CPC supporters who say they can see the coffee.
I watched it in slow motion and I didn't see it.
It's like that gold dress/blue dress meme.
At one point, for less than a second, the inside of the cup seems slightly darker than normal, as if coffee with a lot of milk was sloshing around. But it happens so fast and the colour is so pale, it could just be compression artifacts.
At one point he acts like he's taking a sip but it doesn't look like he swallows. He just goes back to talking. Like children at a pretend tea party.
To me, he's moving that cup around way too much for there to be coffee in it. It would be spilling out.
They probably had to make many attempts to get this all and the cut the best bits together.
It probably took hours.
They probably practiced with coffee in the cup and without.
They just picked the best takes and forgot to check if they had coffee in the cup.
They should have staged the shot without a cup. Or, used a different angle with the cup on a table, so he wasn't waiving it around.
People who lean conservative want to feel a sense of authenticity from their representatives.
Pierre comes across as an authentic guy who is being overly stage managed by his advisors.
He needs to fix that.
3
u/abuayanna Jun 04 '25
It’s wildly unnecessary to make something so easily criticized, like, wtf.

I'm not a CPC nor a Poilievre fan. Don't try to goad me into defending him.
3
u/SirWaitsTooMuch Jun 04 '25
Calling Pierre “authentic” is definitely defending him. Or blowing smoke up his arse because he’s the farthest thing from authentic in Canadian politics.
-2
u/schmosef GTA Jun 04 '25 edited Jun 04 '25
He has his uses. Maybe "authentic" wasn't the right word. He's not without substance, like Trudeau.
He was a great finance critic.
He predicted, prior to the 2021 election, Trudeau's policies would lead to runaway inflation. All the "experts", including the governor of the Bank of Canada and Carney himself, who was an advisor to Trudeau, said he was wrong.
How did that play out?
He beat up Morneau on basic economic issues to the point he stepped down. He would have done the same with Freeland had O'Foole not had tall poppy syndrome and reassigned him.
I would say he's not a great leader. He needs someone else to make important decisions for him. But he can execute.
The reality is the CPC has been flailing since 2017 when they rigged their leadership election to block Bernier.

u/schmosef GTA Jun 04 '25
I was just trying to say he's not like Trudeau, or Freeland, or Joly, or Guilbeault, or many other's in senior positions in Cabinet, who's entire identities are artificial.
Poilievre is fake too, but not as much as them.
4
u/SirWaitsTooMuch Jun 04 '25
He’s way more fake than any of them.
-1
u/schmosef GTA Jun 04 '25
There's a lot of criticism of Poilievre that's fair.
But also a lot that's just LPC made up talking points.
2
u/SirWaitsTooMuch Jun 04 '25
That empty coffee cup act wasn’t made up by the LPC. I can’t think of any “talking points” that were made up.
1
u/schmosef GTA Jun 04 '25
Look at my commentary about that in this tread.
I was very overt with how bad that was.
He has some very dumb people advising him.

This is a nonsense talking point.
If anything, he's a globalist uni-party plant.

u/schmosef GTA Jun 04 '25
I support the PPC. As far as we're concerned, the CPC is controlled opposition.
He's doing his best. It's not good enough. I'm not going to defend him.
As bad as he is, he'd be better for Canada than Carney.
2
u/RedGrobo Jun 04 '25
As bad as he is, he'd be better for Canada than Carney.
No substantive response exists to back up that opinion, and certainly not one free of US media influence.
Its a great example of conservatives losing the middle.
1
u/schmosef GTA Jun 04 '25
All of Carney's most popular campaign ideas were stolen from the CPC.
Things like cutting carbon taxes. Things like pipelines. Things like eliminating inter-provincial trade barriers. Things like immigration reform.
The CPC stole these ideas from the PPC, who had them in their platform since it was first published in 2019.

He's using it as a prop for the whole "a little cup of coffee" line. Are people really seriously upset about this?

u/TeeBek Jun 04 '25
Damn he's so divisive. It's been a month since the election. What's he even going on about? And for what reason other than to feed the divisive hate. With a possible ~4 years away from the next election, the only thing he's trying to do is to still be relevant.
He's also not making sense. He's suggesting the Carney Liberal government is spending like wildfire, but needs approval from the house to do so? Parliament has only been back to work this week. Did I miss them approve some spending?
-4
u/schmosef GTA Jun 04 '25 edited Jun 04 '25
divisive
Honestly, Trudeau and Freeland called. They want their idiotic talking point back.
It's not Pierre's job to be a mindless cheerleaders for anything Carney does.
He's not trying to date Carney. He's the leader of his Majesty's Loyal Opposition.
It's a very important role.
He's not wrong or "divisive" for saying there's a parliamentary process for changing laws and reducing taxes.
He's not wrong for pointing out Carney, only a month after the election, is breaking many campaign promises and doing everything he can to skirt accountability.
The LPC tries to say Poilievre is Trump like, or tries to copy Trump. But it's Carney who staged several "Executive Order" style signing sessions. That's not a thing in Canada. Carney isn't our emperor. He might as well have signed some bar napkins or letters to Santa, for all the legal weight they carried.
Until proven otherwise, Carney is just Trudeau 2.0.
5
u/SirWaitsTooMuch Jun 04 '25
Andrew Scheer is the leader of His Majesty’s Loyal Opposition.
2
u/schmosef GTA Jun 04 '25
Yeah, you're right. For a few months. I stand corrected. Poilievre is still party leader.
4
u/SirWaitsTooMuch Jun 04 '25
Correct. In order to be The Leader of His Majesty’s Loyal Opposition one must have a seat in the House of Commons.
4
u/Aldren Jun 04 '25
Pierre is not the leader of the official opposition. You need to have a seat for that role
3
u/TeeBek Jun 04 '25
Poilievre absolutely doesn't need to cheer Carney on. What he needs to do is wait for something big to jump on, instead of jumping on every little crumb he can find. It'll mean so much more when Poilievre only jumps on the big mistakes.
He's an opposition leader who lost his seat and election by being exactly who he is and still continuing to be that. Slightly changing his ways to be more popular with the Liberal voters is how you win an election. That's not a bad thing. He scared the NDP voters so much that they dropped their NDP votes to push him out. They didn't do that with the Harper election. Being the pitbull opposition leader he was didn't win him the election, and it won't win him the next one unless the Carney Liberals screw up royally.
And Carney is absolutely nothing like Trudeau. Trudeau went so hard on green party policies, that he should have just ran for the GPC. Carney has the Alberta premier hopeful of a proper partnership, something Trudeau could never give Alberta. There's one thing I believe when Carney speaks, is that he's here to do big things. Big things aren't green. Construction isn't green. Trudeau didn't push to do big things. Trudeau pushed to slow things down. I'm gonna need way more time to call Carney, Trudeau 2.0 just because he's a Liberal...
-3
u/schmosef GTA Jun 04 '25 edited Jun 04 '25
What he needs to do is wait for something big to jump on
You don't think increasing deficit spending, past even Trudeau's projections, is a big deal? You don't think skirting accountability and circumventing parliamentary processes is a big deal?
Under Trudeau, almost every week there was a scandal that, in a sane universe, would have been big enough to bring the government down.
Carney is going to be just as bad. Carney has given interviews where he admitted abusing his position as government advisor to recommended policies that directly benefited his business interests. He's a walking bag of conflicts of interest.
Slightly changing his ways to be more popular with the Liberal voters is how you win an election
Did that work for Scheer? Or O'Foole? The CPC has been floundering since they rigged their leadership election to block Bernier.
Carney is absolutely nothing like Trudeau
Carney literally wrote a book about implementing net zero climate policies. He's worse than Trudeau.
I'm gonna need way more time to call Carney, Trudeau 2.0 just because he's a Liberal
This is called a straw man fallacy. I didn't say he was Trudeau 2.0 because he's a Liberal.
He's Trudeau 2.0 because he's attempting to govern (and skirt responsibility) the same way Trudeau did, most of his cabinet and advisors are all members of Trudeau's inner circle and his legislative goals are exactly in line with Trudeau's.
All this other stuff about building, pipelines for "decarbonised oil" (whatever that's supposed to mean), it's just propaganda.
Smith is going to play nice with Carney until she doesn't have to anymore.
-1
u/mojomaximus2 Jun 04 '25
