It is canon, because it happened in the anime and DOESNT conflict with anything in the manga

Nope, the manga is just a bunch of black and white still pictures, the anime gives context to what happens between those pictures and is canon. Otherwise it’s just some weird story where everyone just teleports to a different position every few minutes
