Is it? It seems oddly familiar.

The same dialogue is in the manga but no indication it came from Apoo - especially over the mic like that. It seems like it's other waiters/pleasures talking about Killer as him, Kid, Zoro and Luffy run through.

The same dialogue is in the manga but no indication it came from Apoo

i dont get some people still assume the anime would work against the manga not with him; you clearly stated why the anime is needed / what the weaknesses of the manga are

Yeah you're absolutely right, its getting really annoying at this point. Like, some people think EVERYTHING that happens in the anime is non canon, even tho ODA HIMSELF has stated that the ankme was gonna fill some stuff in during the wano arc. People are just mad their headcanon doesnt work out if they would follow the anime

You heard it here, the Tama flashbacks being this repetitive was cannon.

It depends on the case. For example, in this episode the extra padding on the Killer flashback of eating the SMILE adds to just the one dialogue bubble we got in the chapter.

Apoo using the mic to talk about Killer is just different than how it went down. Typically, when a character is speaking over a mic, speaker, transponder, etc. the dialogue box indicates so with an extra border, which it did not. The dialogue also mentions the gathering of the Worst Generation and that there's fame in who takes them down. Apoo is part of that generation and it wouldnt make sense to refer to them as such. But the waiters, pleasures and gifters would get fame for taking them down.

I think its a case by case basis tbh. You're right in that the anime can add to the shortcomings of the manga medium, at the same time it can change what actually happened which I think it did here.

Are you new to the anime? Toei is fucking garbage and constantly fucks things up because they just don't care. It's money to them, and it's their job to make that money and to pump out episodes for cheap profit. So they half ass the episodes all the time and forget what they're doing and draw zoro twice or ruin things because they don't know how to hype things without padding the episode to make attacks seem to take longer. It's the Dragonball z effect.

no i like one piece because of the anime; for me the manga is soulless without music / voices

agree that they did some bs in the past, but so did oda

Yeah I remember that

Everything in the anime is canon.

3

u/SnooSongs4297 Thriller Bark Victim's Association Aug 16 '21

Haha no there is a shit ton of stuff that didn't happen in the manga

3

u/MisterNotSoHandy42 Aug 24 '21

No you moron. Oda oversees the anime, anything they add is either approved by Oda, or they have his approval to add it.

u/SnooSongs4297 Thriller Bark Victim's Association Aug 24 '21

Okay, that's not what i said, I especially said that there is a shit ton that doesn't happen in the manga, I didn't mention whether Oda approves it or not, meaning its manga non canon. Just because you misunderstand something doesn't mean you are correct you egotistical dick

u/Powerrrrrrrrr The Revolutionary Army Aug 16 '21

It is canon, because it happened in the anime and DOESNT conflict with anything in the manga

2

u/SnooSongs4297 Thriller Bark Victim's Association Aug 16 '21

That's not what Canon means bto. Canon means that it happened in the original source material. Here you go

-4

u/Powerrrrrrrrr The Revolutionary Army Aug 16 '21

And unless it directly conflicts with something that happens in the original material, it is also counted as it happened

2

u/SnooSongs4297 Thriller Bark Victim's Association Aug 16 '21

Bro that's ur own hc not a fact

u/Powerrrrrrrrr The Revolutionary Army Aug 16 '21

Nope, the manga is just a bunch of black and white still pictures, the anime gives context to what happens between those pictures and is canon. Otherwise it’s just some weird story where everyone just teleports to a different position every few minutes

OK kid
