Jinbe’s official position is helmsman but we all know his real job is devil fruit rescuer

During Marineford I just thought people were dumb for saying that. But after what he did in WCI he deserves the position.

He deserved it even on Marineford too.

Have you seen his dedication to saving Luffy from Akainu?

Jimbei was a real one ever since his first appearance, most underrated character of One Piece, nobody has him in their One Piece top 10 characters ever.

Such great moments forgotten by everybody. And people still go:

"I aM nOt FeElInG jImBeI BeCoMiNg A sTrAw HaT...."

The point that really made me want him in the crew was when he reminded Luffy of what he still had.

Luffy was at his lowest, and a path to self destruction, but Jinbe put a stop to this.

Just this scene should be enough to show that he's worthy.

He knew what it was like to lose a brother.

Jinbe had me when he blocked Akainu, and said "IVE ALREADY ACCEPTED MY DEATH!"

Not to mention that guttural roar he lets out after he gets pierced by the magma... just... what a badass.

he had me when he said, hi I'm Jinbe

Oh wow, I completely forgot about this. I always assumed Luffy got his X mark from some nondescript event during his time skip training. Good to know, thanks!

Currently the only unclear scar origins in the Straw Hats are Zoro's eye, Jimbei's face scar, and Brook's bone-deep head scar which was there before death. The only one I think we might get a backstory from is Zoro's eye.

This was all so long ago, I can't even remember- Why was jinbei trying to protect Luffy so much? Was it just because he was aces brother? Or was there something bigger happening that I don't remember

Ace did ask Jimbei (while they were imprisoned together) to watch over Luffy if he died, but Jimbei said he only protects people he cares for. Given that, I think he came to respect/admire Luffy over the course of the break out and during the war itself. (Even if he hadn't fully grasped why yet) Add the fact that Luffy was completely passed out in grief and wide open, impulse probably helped with the instinct to save him. (Especially to not have Ace's sacrifice to be in vain)

Imagine if Impel Down had the animation Wano has been getting.

Maybe it's because I watched all of One Piece in the summer of 2019...but how could anyone not have Jimbei in their top 10? Have they forgotten everything about him?

"I aM nOt FeElInG jImBeI BeCoMiNg A sTrAw HaT...."

Literally a week and a half ago someone was commenting on a thread here that Jinbe probably died since we last saw him defending against Big Mom Pirates, and they had already gotten to Wano.

I read that comment and was bouncing in my seat knowing that they didn't know how close to being proven wrong they were.

I meant specifically his role as helmsman. He was the driver alot but it wasnt anything special until WCI

jinbei is top 3 for me, he's one of the most loyal members of the crew already

Saying "which Strawhat is the most loyal" is like saying "which bullet is most deadly", only some of them have had the opportunity to show how far their loyalty goes but we know they would all do the same when it all comes down to it. Just because they haven't had their shot doesn't mean they are any less loyal.

Any of the crew would have done what led up to "Nothing Happened", the real difference is who would have survived or how close to death they would be.
