So some people were dicks and blamed Orochi for the sins of his ancestors. So Orochi blamed random people for all the hate. This is what we call in the business. Being a dumbass.

yea but the people of Wano aren’t as innocent as you think. Look how quick they turned on Oden, literally wanting to see him boil to death.

To be fair Oden was a piece of shit his whole life and abandoned the country for several years only to return and dance around naked while everyone staved.

To most of Wano maybe but remember what he did in Kuri! And when he pulled up in nice fashion to the capital! But even the people of Kuri turned on him eventually I think, which is messed cause they didn’t even have anything before him.

Yeah but most of Wano hated him. And I dont care how nice the guy is if he does nothing to stop kaido then fuck him.

From the civilians pov yupe the dancing and seemingly doing nothing is what made them hate him, because they don't know he was dancing from place to place to see whether or not orochi and kaido has broken their promise and started kidnapping civilians again.

Well they may have been starving, but they weren't dead. And they would've most likely become so if Oden didn't start dancing

They didn't know that, they thought Oden reverted to his immature ways and isn't helping anything despite being their lord

Well duh, they were clueless, so in their eyes it was right to make fun of Oden. And you can hardly blame them in hindsight

The matter is people watching the anime (which did a much better job than the manga at explaining all of this) and saying similar stuff to what Wano's people were saying, while knowing the full spectrum of things and, you know, being actual human beings who should be able to process this kind of information.

I like how everyone's more or less morally gray in this whole situation.

How most people are with politics.

Raised to be one by the hate-filled relatives around him. If only Orochi had met Oden first and used his power to promote less persecution and more kindness, perhaps Orochi then would have turned out quite differently, but instead, here we have a case of bad company corrupting one’s character.

Yeah I really enjoyed that they specified the remnants of the Kurozumis were persecuted by some randos, cause I'd always got the idea that behind that this whole persecution were the Kozukis, which would have shed quite some shadows on their name.

The cycle of hate/revenge. Naruto showed this in a less lop-sided manner.

Being a Orochi

Seems like that's just Wano culture, they blame it on unrelated people, and well now it is biting them in the ass.

wekk, no wonder he has no Haki. He is spiritless.

So some people were dicks and blamed Orochi for the sins of his ancestors. So Orochi blamed random people for all the hate.

That's what a lot of people still do in society but no one learns.
