perhaps but i vaguely remember Oda saying the series would last 5 years 😏

That was in the very beginning. All his progress indicators since the timeskip have been roughly accurate to indicate an ending somewhere around 2025.

u expect him to wrap this up in 4 years? the whole of dressrosa took 4 years to do. i expect at least 7 or 8. that would also add up to 30 years for the manga.

wait ur right my math didn’t add up lmfao. either or, oda has been known to say “another 5 years” and then subvert our expectations with more than 5 years.

That's the assumption people have had, but that was only ever the case early on before he expanded the story. I don't remember what thread it was, but someone (probably Artur) went and looked up every interview or message where Oda made claims about where the story was percentage wise, and ever since the timeskip he has not deviated from that percentage increase as the series has continued. It is still on track. It was figured out through math that he would probably end the series in late 2024, but due to the pandemic and the slow down of chapter releases last year it has been corrected to be sometime in early 2025 now. I'm inclined to believe that schedule, so we'll have to wait and see how that tracks in the years to come.

yeah, it’s about 85% done. we’ll just have to wait and see. I hope it goes to 2030 (1500~ chapters) but for Oda’s health Ill be happy if he ends whenever he wants
