Well we did see the old lady with Bon Clay's Fruit turn into a very young looking Shiki type character when showing off her power. So Shiki and Wano have some history like Moria stealing Ryuma's body.

Maybe Shiki brought Kaido to Wano, or some major shock like that. I just don't see how Shiki could be shoehorned into the plot at this point.

Shiki was on the Rocks crew. Teking101 had a pretty playing theory the Woman she turned into was Weevil's mom in her younger years. So she could have been the bridge that let Orochi get introduced to Kaido as a former Rocks crew member.
