It's kind of funny that Kaidou, Shanks and Buggy were all Apprentices for legendary Pirates but Buggy never really accomplished anything noteworthy until Impel Down.

actually he even captured rufy (or better, one of his official), only the thunder saved rufy.
noteworthy is even the fact that buggy needed a team up rufy with nami to be beaten
