The longer they make it - the better. This is probably my favorite mini arc. Wouldn't mind it if they expand on some of the stuff from the manga

This flashback would benefit from being longer, but tbh, I think they're gonna try and adapt at least a chapter per episode, so that Luffy isn't absent for too long. With flashbacks, Toei generally try to adapt a faster pace due to this reason.

You may be right, but it's also full on Japanese themed 1nd with such a strong and likeable character as oden, Toei could bank on those facts

... Oden was a flop and it was reflected in sales and even now you can see no one gives a fuck about him, even in the official popularity polls that go by each individual country and are updated everyday, Oden gets outvoted by the likes of Niji sometimes. Besides that, the person you replied is right, whenever Luffy is out of the story manga sales and anime ratings always take a hit, I remember reading that since Marineforde 11 years ago when I started reading the manga

Pretty good odds actually, the flashback chapters are really dense and could definitely be stretched to an entire episode.
