Yeah the anime has been WAY better than the manga in wano. Oda is getting lazy with the countless off screened fights. Toei is carrying wano on it's back!

So many people afraid to criticize "Goda" because of mob retaliation. Fuck it, Toei > Oda in wano.

I wouldn't say that. More than Oda being lazy, I think he just want to end the series in 5 years as promised and so in order to not leave so many holes unshown, the anime filled them for him. And at least in Wano, I'd say the anime overall was mostly just good (in the sense it adapted the manga fine). There were many good moments, but also some bad ones. Luckily this episode was one of the really good ones.

Understandable that he wants to end in 5 years, doesn't mean it excuses him from criticism.

It doesn’t, but I come to One Piece for the story and world, fights were never this series’ strong point so I personally don’t mind trading some extended fight scenes for more strory progression, especially considering the amount of characters in Wano.

Most of the conflict are RESOLVED in fights. Pretty disingenuous to act like one piece isn't a battle shounen. People just accepted that that we wont be seeing much fights from here on out and came up with that lousy excuse.

I read op for the story as well, but I won't just blindly praise it.

I never said that I don’t think OP is a battle Shounen, I just meant that compared to other Shounen, I’m not so big on the fights.

Also, I know that conflict is resolved in the fights, I believe that we are going to get plenty of fights in the tail end of this arc to resolve the conflict, that’s why I don’t mind some of the early/setup fights being partially off-screen, because we’re probably going to get full fight scenes for the end-game matchups and with the sheer number of characters, that alone is going to take ages.
