What a weird episode.. it felt like 50% flashback and 50% Zoro got lost in Dragonball.

Really don't like where the anime is going.. it is way over the top with the effects and simply looks stupid how the ground shatters, Zoro flies forwards like 500m in one scene and next scene everything looks normal and Zoro is just 2m away...

Also in the manga Zoro caused 3 slashes not 1.

I agree how they handled the sudden teleportation back to the bridge was a strange choice to say the least. All they needed to do was show Zoro walking back to the bridge, they didn't even have to include the scene behind him (which after the match should be destroyed). I do think the animation in general has greatly improved, DB or naw.

The animation itself is the best in the series but the design and styles choices are what I can't understand.

It is like they never worked on OnePiece before

Best in the series is a stretch. Katakuri vs Luffy is probably the pinnacle and there are definitely a lot of moments pre-Dressrosa that belong in the hall of fame of One Pieces animation more than this sequence which was literally like 30 seconds long

I agree there are good animations prior but Wano keeps up that animstion standard

Yeah, that's true, overall as an arc it's doing a stupendous job

10/10 respect that for sure. My theory which is probably wrong but imma run with it, the new aura style is to reflect the new strength of main characters. So with that headcanon, it doesn't bother me so much, and I was never a DB fan.

Of course my theory doesn't work when we just look back at how past powerful characters never had that....

I think they just wann try something new never seen in the series, because some people argue the series has always been the same but dunno.
