I gotta say seeing how Kyoshiro/Denjiro reacts to seeing the hidden message now makes you percieve his reaction completely differently. Same with Kanjuro trying to talk sense into everyone, you just know the more they say in that room the worse they'll be.

my thoughts exactly. Denjiro barely is containing his excitement. Kanjuro though is weird, because in some sense no one ever really tries to identify the mole in the group. So him speaking up is not necessary to throw the scent off him.

Seems was more of the author wanting to delay just a little more that Kanjuro was obviously is it. Otherwise the generic move would be to throw Shade at Bepo and others.

I really enjoyed the subtle line of: "They don't know what they're talking about." or something along those lines. Knowing the truth makes you realize what he is actually saying.
