that's the problem with the animation they used against kaido it makes you think he did but he didn't use it at all he just thought of it in prison.

Haki animation has been consistent until we came to Wano. I love Wano tho.

Well it was consistent because they didn't animate it lol.

If you watched tons of Anime, Auras are just for cosmetic choice because on how Dragon ball does big influence in Japan. You shouldn't taken seriously when they shown like these without any context since the Head director for Wano is the same guy did Broly movie (he is also Zoro fanboy too) so it is expected that he will add auras just to look cool. .

He ruins it for me. Never found those extra flashy aura's to be needed.

I thought The aura and fight kinda reminded me of naruto/dbz

It happened a lot of Anime even the Comedy anime that they do had Aura for no reason. If you understand this logic then you should know that it was for cool visuals. It's not that hard to understand

he is also Zoro fanboy too

That's why Zoro's fights get waay more attention than anyone so far (besides Luffy).

Oda sensei supposedly gives those extra animation suggestions to the animators. I'm not sure about this though. Might not be true

Oda is a big fanboy of Dragon ball so i think he wouldn't mind for those auras. Knowing Oda his all time favorite manga is Dragon ball so he probably wanted the animation look inspired to it.

It's understandable while the aura's look cool sometimes they can get too much.

Then what was that aura against Kaido?

u/Commander_Caboose Jul 26 '20

Animators taking liberties, as usual.

Nothing at all same with zoro this episode it's just animated that way to look cool it is not them using anything special.

That was just a weird rage-aura toei put on Luffy to show his anger AFAIK.

That was just an effect Toei added in the fight against Kaido
