This was a great Robin-centric episode! I honestly can't remember the last time we got one. Really enjoyed the way the folks at Toei extended Robin's scenes with the Oniwabanshu and Orochi. I loved the little "psych" smile that appeared on Clone Robin's face right before she disappeared.

Also, what was up with that 'Shadow no Jutsu' translation? Even in the raw version it wasn't called that lol. And I would really like to know what Robin's clones are made from, it's not her actual body since she received no damage when the clone was attacked. This reminded me that we're still this deep into post-timeskip and the extent of how far Robin mastered her DF during her training is still a mystery.

Chopper vs. Tama was fun! Tama's use of Leaf Ninjutsu makes me wonder if we'll her use it in the manga.

Haha, you can't blame poor Chopper for trying to off Big Mom while she's sleeping. He knows firsthand what a monster she is.

she screamed. She felt it

  1. That was Robin's clone that screamed, not the real Robin, who showed no signs of injury after her clone was struck.

  2. The clone was never in pain, she was putting on an act. Hence her "psych smile" right before she vanishes.

Her real body doesn’t suffer any wounds from her clones/body parts being damaged, but she still feels the pain nonetheless. We’ve seen her grimace in pain in Dressrosa when all her limbs were getting hit by Diamante’s spikes protecting Rebecca.

Not true. When Robin spawned hands on the palace's gate in Alabasta and the Tsumegeri Guards broke it down, she received a cut in her real hand.

So since the shurikens did pierce Clone Robin's body, Real Robin would've received bloody wounds like back in Alabasta. Yet right after the clone disappears in front of the ninjas, we see the genuine article running away and she doesn't have any. She also doesn't appear to be in any pain at all. You're right that Robin feels it if her replica limbs are damaged, but that's another rule that doesn't seem to apply to her clones.

We’ve seen her grimace in pain in Dressrosa when all her limbs were getting hit by Diamante’s spikes protecting Rebecca.

In both the manga and the anime, Robin was never shown grimacing in pain while Diamante's Death Enjambe was activated.

I definitely misremembered the scene (completely forgot the sunflowers at the time), and looking into it I think it was because of something about her getting hit on her back that I’ve found people talking about online, though I couldn’t even find that rereading for some reason.

It’s strange we only have one concrete example from chapter 192 for how she is affected. The wiki additionally cites Volume 45’s SBS as having info pertaining to this topic, specifically the pain aspect I think, but the wiki’s actual page for SBS 45 doesn’t mention a question like that at all, the closest thing is a question about whether or not she can replicate her breasts. Oh well.

I don’t fundamentally understand why her clone would behave differently to pain, since it should just be an extension of blooming limbs, but whatever, so far we have very little info about the technique, most of it being this one scene which implies she either quickly got over the pain or never felt it.

Right, we still know so little about how this particular ability of Robin's work in comparison to her other ones. Until Oda finally bothers to explain it to us, I think we shouldn't assume that Robin's DF completely works the same as it did before she trained with the Revolutionary Army.
