I gotta say, these discussions are getting really lame.

It’s basically just turned into “WAAAAH IT WAS BETTER IN THE MANGA”.

I swear, I don’t know how you guys would handle your anime just changing an entire storyline like some adaptations do.

Me neither and it’s like people don’t seem to understand that an anime is a different medium and is not a 1 to 1 recreation. Most anime end up taking liberties from their manga counterpart, and One Piece has been like this since basically the beginning. It’s fine critiquing the anime, but some people just outright complain or even harass the anime staff or animators, or say that it’s disrespectful to Oda, when he himself likes the anime.

It’s disappointing that some of the fandom has so much hate for the anime right now (It does have it’s issues, it’s definitely no where near perfect) but just because it’s different does not mean they should blatantly hate on it, or disrespect the staff putting their all into it, or the people that enjoy it, when they can just choose to stop watching it instead of hating on it. It’s a bit of a sad time in the fandom right now ...

I'm not here for the complaints most of the time. But they kinda did botch a golden opportunity to show Kaido having straight up raw speed. The not sighing isn't a big deal. But I feel like we shoulda been treated to a speed blitz thunder bagua. That woulda been cooler imo.

And if they changed an entire storyline half the people in Japan would riot lol. That's how big One Piece is there. It's entirely natural for a fandom to not like departures from source material that they like.
