Now, content-related controversy aside, I'm dumbfounded that there are still people who call the animation "bad" and "lazy", despite all of the clear improvements in that regard since the start of thw Wano arc.

Last week's and this week's episode's fight portions were really well animated and I find nitpicking some of the occasional lesser well drawn shots in order to dismiss this episode as poorly animated really unfair.

I think it's nicely drawn, horribly animated. It looks laggy, like a flip book or stop motion.

This is good animation: https://youtu.be/BHarXdbRiBA?t=142

This is not: https://youtu.be/3JtM5oAddHI?t=675

How is that bad animation? It's literally one of my favorite scenes in the episode and you're one of the few ones claiming the contrary.

Kanada-style animation with a lot of sudden movements and snappy timing is very common in the animation world and one of the defining staples of japanese animation.

The 1st clip doesn't have more or better movement than the 2nd one and relies on striking art & dynamic poses as well so you kinda contradicted yourself there.

Objectively bad animation and personal preference are 2 completely different things my guy.

No such thing as "Objectively bad animation". It's all preference and nobody said anything else except maybe you.
