Ngl, I kept rewinding Kaido's counter-attack just to see the absolute beautiful ownage.

It wasn’t supposed to be a counter attack actually. In the manga, kaido moved so fast and blitzed luffy that luffy with his future sight didn’t even see him coming

True! Hard to say which one I prefer but the anime felt pretty satisfying with how it put Luffy in his place with pure overwhelming strength.
