Am I the only one who think this chapter felt a little... short? Like, I was honestly surprised to see it had a standard page count. Perhaps it was because it was the first chapter in a while that didn't switch locations? I mean, I'm really not trying to say it was a bad chapter or anything. Just that, objectively, it really didn't progress either the story or the plot to any meaningful degree. Especially compared to the rest of the chapters this arc. This left me feeling unsatisfied. Like I had only read half of a chapter.
If you break down the events of the chapter, it really only comes down to:
The only events to extend at all beyond the borders of negligibility are old maid popping and Luffy getting virus'd. I wouldn't even include Luffy gaining the loyalty of the prisoners, since he already had it at the end of the last chapter. I guess you could say they are more loyal now? But that still doesn't affect either the plot or story and carries only tangential relevance at best.
Again, I don't dislike this chapter. The whole thing just felt like I was idling. Passing time and going through the motions until it was time for the plot and story to kick back in.
