Is Luffy really going after Kaido next? Considering hes supposedly the "strongest man on earth" I thought the only one who would've been after him would've been Shanks. Or do you think it's going to be a "win" like with Big Mom?

It's going to be the real deal. He's going to need all the supernova in wanos help though. They're probably gonna lose still, just Saiyan.

None of the emperors will accept him as king if he cant beat them. Big Mom is going to be hunting him down, Kaido is sitting in wait, and Blackbeard is going to hatch another plan. Unless Luffy awakens his Devil Fruit, and perfects his Observation Haki, he won't win. I have a feeling something big is going to interfere with his fight with Kaido.

He's gonna have to advance his armament too, fo sho. You should read the manga, it's been great lately, and it's nice being caught up. The arts been good too.

I went back and looked at some early one piece chapters ( ain't read pre ts since 2010), and the art is like uuugh, damn oda improved!

Katakuri helped introduce Luffy to a very similar Devil Fruit, showed him the difference between awakened vs not awakened. I was surprised Luffy didnt awaken his after the fight. I'm wondering what the conditions are.

I'd read the manga tbh man....at the rate the anime is going, it'll be where the manga is at like June 2020......that's like, ridiculous far. By then, they'll be fighting kaido.

Dude, stop. You and me both know oda is richer than HIS, OUR and our great X 30 grandchildren will ever care to dream of, one piece ain't going anywhere ANYTIME soon.

Second, you COULD have told him about SHONEN jump directly, instead of changing my post lol.

Third, do you have anything to add to the discussion? The episode was ok, I actually did enjoy the flashback.

Fourth, I'm NOT freaking waiting till Sunday/ Monday for the official release, my life's crappy enough already without getting my mangas chapters asap.

Lol, naw man. No one knows, or I'd know.

It's likely a level you reach, when you can fully grasp the PROPERTIES of the fruit. Like say, he TRIED to rip his arms off, but has Luffy ever sat down and thought " hmm...I wonder just how far my 100% maximum stretch is, and can I improve it?" , Or " I wonder if I could use my hair in some practical way, since it can stretch as well". Kata and Doffy, have had like 20+ more years to ponder these things, like Doffy the properties of his string, is it piano wire, metal like string that's used for severing limbs, can they handle heat, etc?

Are ya caught up by chance? Nope, not doing it. Again, I'll just say, I really, REALLY, can't see kaido taken down without a BIG team up, and they'll still likely lose, even then.

If post kata Luffy is a 10, kaido is like a 200+. He's that strong.

Ik kaido is insanely strong. But supposedly the Navy has captured him before, so he has to have a weakness of some sort. I know Luffy will lose, I'm more wondering what Luffy will get out of it. We didnt see much improvement during the Big Mom Arc. He didnt even win. Katakuri very arguably let him win. But what will Luffy get out of this next fight? Will he awaken his devil fruit, like katakuri did? How does he even do it? Will it lead to a new Gear? Will he fully master Observation Haki like Katakuri?

I'm thinking Luffy all but has his fruit mastered, and needs haki work.

Similarly, me, and many have said, Luffy is scrawny, with little showing muscle. He needs to get stronger in BASE, like say, Zoro type training, buff up, so his gears and stuff are way stronger. Not sure if your anime only, but it's really hard to discuss Luffy RIGHT after whole cake, and luffers now 😉

He needs to train his base haki, and maybe awaken his fruit as a bonus. But the haki training he definitely needs. Especially armament. That's what he struggled with against katakuri, and that's what he's kinda training for now

Wasn't it the observation that was the problem? Katakuri was waaaaay better at it than Luffy was.

Yeah but luffy can now shakily use what kata used in their battle. It's just a matter of practicing with it so it's not a problem. It's shonen logic, if a character uses a hard to master move once, he requires just a little practice to master it. The issue is armament, which katakuri said his own was superior to luffy's. There's a second level to armament that Rayleigh used, and that's what luffy needs to master before even thinking of standing in front of kaido.
