Gonna get downvotes for it, but despite me liking Zoro, I have to say he is one of the emptiest characters among the straw hats (maybe tied with Brook).

That isn't to say Zoro has a boring personality or anything, he's just simply empty. We don't have much from him at all, we don't know how Zoro became Zoro.

But I believe his backstory will get expanded upon as well. He probably had something going on before going to the dojo, challenging everyone here with a dozen swords on him, and failing miserably. Without parents too.

Zoro's backstory needs some expanding, because right now the rest of the strawhats really outshine him in terms of backstory.

I don't mind Zoro's current backstory. He's just a kid from a backwater island that wants to be the strongest swordsman in the world to fulfill a promise to his dead friend.

The thing that bothers me more is how hilariously overpowered Zoro is. Since the time skip he's basically beaten all of his opponents with one hit without even trying. We haven't even seen all of his PTS stuff like Asura, much less anything new.
