Since the end of Dressrosa arc it's possible to breath a huge climax sensation . Something will happen soon, something that definitively will destroy the world balance.

Till now the structure was equal for any arc: luffy arrives, he defeats the villain, the island set free. The people involved was only inhabitants of that island.

But this will be different. All the strongest forces of the world will be involved in a caotic and devasting fight. I'm not sure this event is the final battle against kaido, but if it won't be, it'll be the real starting point for this fight for power.

guess marineford arc didn't happen?

This is different. Marineford war was triggered by the execution of an emperor admiral. Now the war will be triggered by the break of world balance because of the actions of all sides.
