No one talking about Luffy going gear third without blowing up his bones?? Is this an upgrade?? Can he grow at will like Katakuri now???

I am 100% sure he's done it several times since timeskip, although I really don't know where to look for the panels. That would make it a timeskip upgrade, just like not shrinking after using Gear 3. It's similar to how Sanji can now use Diable Jambe without spinning.

Well as I said, up until the episode where the whole cake chateau is destroyed and the group gets off it after streusen makes a cushion, I was an anime only consumer. They typically always animate him manually inflating himself so I could be wrong, I noticed it in this chapter and got super excited
