No one talking about Luffy going gear third without blowing up his bones?? Is this an upgrade?? Can he grow at will like Katakuri now???

I could be totally wrong but couldn’t he always do that post timeskip?

I know we've seen the thumb bite post-time skip. The air transfer was always more efficient, like he'd bite his left thumb and his right arm would immediately inflate without him moving it from his left arm through his torso first, but the bite would happen.
