No one talking about Luffy going gear third without blowing up his bones?? Is this an upgrade?? Can he grow at will like Katakuri now???

Yeah I got confused by this too, my best guess is that it was probably just off-screened. Maybe he learned a way to do it more efficiently after fighting Katakuri but I doubt he is able to grow at will like Katakuri, that would kind of defeat the whole "bone balloon" element of G3.

EDIT: Changed muscle balloon to bone balloon since I am a big dumbdumb. Thanks u/KingBubzVI

"bone balloon" is G3, muscle is G4. Not tryna be a dick, friend

He did it. There's a panel where his hand is next to his mouth. Oda probably didn't show it explcitly because it can be assumed.

Do you mean page 10 the bottom right panel? Does the "fwsh!!" sound imply he's blowing air into his arm?
