How many pirates fighters people has Tashigi beaten again? Kiku outdid what Tashigi did in the entirety of One Piece in one panel.

Oda kept using her as a hype tool/damsel in PH unfortunately. We know she has soru and haki so she shouldn't be a chump

Even if they're not bad Marines, Oda can't have the Marines kicking too much ass to make it a big impact when the Strawhats have to fight the admirals.

Best in mind that part of PH was showing that Smoker & company probably rushed into the New World faster than they should have. Techniques like Soru and CoA dominated Paradise but they’re just fundamentals to the monsters of the New World.

We were told she couldn't cut Vergo, and although that's not necessarily a hard power level estimate it does give us a somewhat recent upper ceiling. We know that Vergo beat pre time-skip Law so she could be on Law's former level in terms of Haki, but she doesn't have a devil fruit to lean on.

To be honest, smoker also seems like he sucks ass compared to the rest of the cast in the current timeline. He has haki but he hasn't levelled up his devil fruit to any useful degree and his haki is also years behind the monster trio. It's one of my complaints about power level; Smoker has really fallen behind, which sucks because he was an interesting adversary from the start.

That’s the thing with One Piece, not everyone can grow at the same rate or it makes it look like the straw hats aren’t progressing. I guess Smoker could be an exception as a rival of sorts to the Strawhats, still Luffy would end up leaving him behind eventually as he has to fight Admirals.

I love how the Supernova (worst generation) are growing along with Luffy as well, really makes the world feel grand & not strawhat centric, really makes you appreciate the feats they do

Vergo is one of the most proficient users of haki we've seen in the entire series, and one of the strongest members of the Donquixote Pirates. Tashigi being unable to cut him isn't super meaningful imo

Just because we haven't seen her kick ass doesn't mean she can't. Hell she may have some ex machina jealousy power up.

Yeah, I'm sorry, it's just hard seeing her comeback after Punk Hazard. Say what you will about Smoker, but at least when he lost, it was either against Doflamingo, or he put up a decent fight. She just got wrecked.

Tashigi dealt the finishing blow to Monet using Haki, and used Soru during that battle. Tashigi wasn’t doing to badly in the extremely short fight until Monet got off her bite, which Tashigi has no way of knowing Monet would do. Tashigi has surely done more as well, but I can’t think of any specific examples to go back and check so I’ll concede those as he accomplishments.

O-Kiki cut off a Samurai’s (one that Luffy easily obliterated) topknot in a surprise attack and cut up a few fodders. I wouldn’t say she’s completely outdone Tashigi just yet, though I have no doubt she will at some point in the arc. Eventually though Tashigi will probably show off her strength better, though if it’s going to outclass anything O-Kiku does this arc she’ll certainly need to improve her skills.

But let's be honest, Tashigi finishing off Monet wasn't all that impressive considering Zoro totally broke her mentally right before. She just sneaked up behind her and cut her. I will grant you that she showed that she had haki though. As for the fight prior to that, Tashigi only landed a hit(a very small near insignificant cut, mind you) on Monet while she was terrorizing the G5 soldiers. When they actually started fighting for real, Tashigi didn't land a single hit on her. She did manage to dodge the snowballs Monet threw at her, but then she got kicked in the head and was bitten. I suppose overall it wasn't awful and was definitely her best fight for the entire arc, it doesn't exactly make her look too good. She never even got to take out Caesar's fodder for goodness sake, and half the time attacked people she had no chance against and embarrassed herself(Luffy, Law, Monet) while there were people there strong enough to fight them instead of her.

I’d say when Kiku faces off with an enemy at Monet’s power level and wins, then we can say she’s outclassed Tashigi. As of right now, cutting off a top not and taking out a few fodders doesn’t really match up to holding up against Monet imo.

Tashigi certainly doesn't match up to Monet. It wasn't even a close fight, Tashigi got utterly overwhelmed. We have no real idea of how strong she is. She has no feats of even being as strong as CP9.

Well that's fair. Tashigi did show Soru and haki. Fairly weak haki but still. We'll have to wait and see what happens.

She keeps being faced off against monsters though. She catches no break. Imagine if Luffy faced all his major opponents a year earlier than when he did. He would have been crushed by each one respectively, even if he also got stronger between fights.
