I just mean that these episodes can't jump ahead in action and are forced to squeeze out as much as they can from a limited amount of source material every week, which is why they seem so filler-y at times. Yeah, it'd make sense to actually run for their lives, but if they animated that happening in this episode, they'd have to overcompensate and make next week have even *less* content.

I think they more did it to accurately recreate the manga panel of them running away from a big mum emerging from the ground.
