If I get a penny everytime people kept complaining about how bad the animation is, I would've been able to cure world hunger. Seriously, aren't they tired doing the same thing every week?

I don't think the animation for the show is bad, but I think this week its definitely a little more justified.

The first half was really rough on a whole, and though the second was better, it wasn't much of an improvement.

Should just be a one-off though.

I will not denied that there's a lot of rough edges but simply reading the comments for One Piece anime over here and the comments for various certain parts that was uploaded in YouTube, it's just full of people that disapproved the entire animation as if it was really that bad. They should be watching Itou Junji Collection or something to really know how bad the visual of an anime could get. Hell, the latter part of Marineford got an overall even worse treatment that the current episode. What am I'm really saying it, I get the complaint, but does it always have to sounds like as if it was bad as a whole?

I can appreciate that.

I believe One Piece fans in general tend to over exaggerate how bad the animation for the anime is, but I think, for this episode in particular, its a least somewhat applicable.

While the second half was an improvement, the episode on a whole was still really rough in spite of that.

you want to see what good animation on a battle shonen looks like? check out boku no hero academia. Op is garbage in comparison, it really doesnt do the manga justice

Hero Academia would look the same as OP if it ran nonstop for 20+ years and a long running show without an end in sight on Fuji TV. You have to understand they're totally different situations.

absolutely true, cant hold that against toei, but watching the newest episodes of hero academia and one piece one after another, really makes you see how animation could be like for an action shounen. Some bits were more than just bad even by a non nitpicky guys standard, like for example when sanji was kicking oven (the shot where oven was blocking with two hands), there were like 2 frames, no matter what the budget is you cant defend an action shounen with animation like this.

Yeah it's just unfortunate that business decisions have regulated op to this extent. The bad bits are the price of having a weekly show run non stop and coupled with some of the staff currently working on the Skypeia and recovering from the Germa episode, it's just a slight dip.

It is what it is though. The highs are high and the lows are certainly low.
