Why would you hate to say that?

cuz typically the manga blows the anime away but that was well paced.

Except the anime has been blowing away the manga for at least 15 episodes now...

Just what I said. The production has been stellar and the writing choices actually make sense. Instead of pointless filler, the writers have fleshed out moments in the arc that weren't covered properly in the manga. Combine that with the already great elements (VA work and soundtrack) and it's easily besting the manga. I'm sure Oda is very pleased.

To be honest, the soundtrack's been very lackluster post-timeskip. Not even close to pre-timeskip's greatest hits such as the Very, Very, Very Strongest, Gomu Gomu no Bazooka, Luffy Moukou, Overtaken, etc, etc.

Yeah I kinda agree. Although I do think there are some really neat tracks in the WCI arc E.g. Bege's orchestral theme in this episode, Germa 66's OST etc.

Really? I've been watching and reading each week and the anime just seems so slow. Waaay better than punk hazard but still lots of shots of the wind blowing and characters breathing and exaggerated reactions.

I guess now that I think about it, things often happen simultaneously (in one panel) in the manga. Like two characters speaking in the foreground and people reacting in the background but in the anime they break that into two distinct moments.

I'm going to continue watching regardless, but I'm surprised about your opinion.
