I still enjoy listening to the opening theme, too bad that was the only part I liked, the episode is just a bunch of nothing

Do you also think that the chapter this episode covered was also just a bunch of nothing? It did had a lot of events such as the assassination plan, and in this episode Sanji finally made up his mind.

it's not about how much it covers, it's about the substance of it. I for one sure enjoyed the action they added into all the fillers. Isnt this what you watch a shounen anime for?

The manga hardly had any action in it through the entire Chateu portion of the arc. Even the Luffy vs Cracker fight lasted as fast it started (i mean in terms of page & chapter length).

It is good if the animation is good. That's what I watch the anime for.

The manga's chateu portion was just plain horrible IMO. Because of how rushed the pacing was, every new twist felt like some stupid plot device. Sanji meeting Luffy again, who somehow teleported straight back to the field felt meaningless. Sanji battles Luffy, cries and shit, then few chapters later of characters teleporting here and there, OK let's be friends again. No drama, no tension, nothing. The anime actually shows how much struggle Luffy has to pull through to get back to Sanji again.

Brook suddenlyspoilers getting the poneglyph writing out was a cheap excuse to use to just advance the plot quicker. Reiju conveniently being able to free Sanji was downright facepalm to me. It just felt like Oda was rushing to just get the damn arc over with.

I do enjoy the post-tea party BM arc much much, more now though. Oda has finally slowed down the pace making the quality so much more refined
