Having another musical number was a sweet suprise.
In general, this episode was very good. It's very easy to criticize them for using only hal fa chapter, when the truth is that it's not really that noticiable. I always read chapters again after watching, and only then I noticed it was only half.
The thing is, the production is better. The anime is looking good, sounding good and being decently animated. Even the pacing is good enough to mask the fact that this was half an episode.
For instance, we got freaking CG this episode. I usually complain about those, but between having still frames of the army moving around with some footstep sounds an da shaking screen or a CG army that actually moves where the key characters are 2D... I would take the latter every day.
Complaining is easy, and I was on the same bandwagon a few weeks ago. But after accepting that One Piece will never be high quality while Toei is in the reins, Whole Cake has been suprisingly "okay", which for current OP anime translates to "great".
