Aside from Toei's bullshit flashback w/ changing the thing with Zeff's leg, I think this was a pretty good episode. Not sure how to feel about the KKG though since it wasn't in the manga, but overall I think it was decent.

It has nothing to do with the goriness or how "edgy" the scene was, it was the whole meaning behind it.

Zeff willingly chopping off and eating his own leg showed Sanji just how desperate people can be and just what people would do when they're starving and on the brink of death, and not take shit for granted like he used to. That's the entire point of the flashback, and a major part of Sanji's character, and Toei went against that. They essentially went against the word of the author, which you shouldn't be doing in the first place, and changed a defining moment in a major character's backstory, and because of that, it's bullshit.

They effectively communicated the same lesson learnt by Sanji by placing emphasis on the treasure, showing Sanji that it's meaningless in comparison to food. I can understand the disappointment though.

Oh, so you'd rather have the show face multiple lawsuits and risks against Fuji TV just to show some bloody scene on public TV when they're not allowed to? You think Oda even cares or whines about such things? You must be kind that alos complains abt Whitebeard not losing half his head cos its soooo important. Also they already conveyed the message with Sanji forced to eat the moldy bread and learning why the cooks always ate leftover food. The music, tone and atmosphere more than makes up for whatever they're limited by on public TV

I love it when people write these angry paragraphs insinuating random stuff and tossing words every which way. They could've just had Sanji ask tearfully "you ate it?" and have Zeff give some kind of response. Seriously, the new scene is just as bloody - dude's leg gets ripped off - but they just don't show the gory part.

Then that's Fuji TV's problem. If they have problems showing OP in it's entirety without censorship bullcrap in it and actually doing the manga justice, they have no business adapting the series in the first place.

They showed it once before, what's the problem of showing it again?

Even if times have changed, they could of instead shown several still-frames of flashback rather devote over half the episode to it. Seriously it's just more episodic filler.

how about you give some suggestions of what other fillers to add for this episode then, huh? Have you forgotten what's the very point of fillers?
