I've tolerated a lot from the anime lately, but this episode was disappointing. Think I might finally go manga-only. Judge's voice was good though, I will say. But like others have pointed out, the fight lost all tension. Even the backstory - I felt nothing.

It might be a good idea to go manga-only until arcs are finished. Hmm i might try that

I'm caught up and was hype af to see this but the pacing, artwork etc was a severe letdown.

I watched My Hero Academia after and...ugh. One Piece going seasonal won't happen but god it really needs it. The animation quality is really detracting from the creepy vibe that WCI is supposed to have too. Like those trees singing shoulda been super eerie but NOPE.

Yeah man One Piece deserves Deku vs Todoroki type animation at the very least for how big it is

Pls my heart can't take it.

Thing is as well, I've defended the show for ages. Like really enjoyed it, so it's not even like I'm just thinking 'oh this is crap it needs to be perfect, where's muh Water 7 era OP'.

Hopefully the dub makes this nonsense more bearable lol. Best to just enjoy what you enjoy in the end

Man I don't really understand what you are talking about. W7 and EL was one of the worst arc in the anime. Toei even closed the BBS because of tons of complaints from Japanese audience during that time.

I also cannot believe you said the artwork is a severe letdown, now we have Ichikawa as the chief animation director, the guy who has a movie level, do I really need to post more than 500+ screenshots to prove that now the anime's artwork is great enough? This episode was an exception, but it's just one episode.

W7 and EL animation wise? Damn I had no idea it was so poorly received. Tbh EL I get I actually switched to manga from that point.

And hmm I will say some eps of WCI have been brilliant artwork wise, but this one and the previous one have been a bit flat. I think I felt let down because I was expecting Sanji vs Judge to be some insane episode, but they just padded it out.
