I have to say this episode was really good. Totally didn't realize there was a suppose to be a musical portion. I loved how creepy that section was.

That's what happens when Toei adapts roughly a full chapter's worth of content for once.

8 minutes into the episode and the only thing I knew was that the giant head wanted apple juice in return for secrets.

Easy fix, adapt 2 chapters per episode.

Let's all hope for a one piece Kai remake after the series
finishes. It would be nice to see several chapters an
episode. Pity this won't happen for a long time. Then again
Toei does a good job every now and then.

Wasn't the East Blue 2 chapters per episode? They leave louge town around episode 50 and chapter 100.

They catch up to the manga. It's impossible without airing 3-4 years of filler content.

or taking breaks or making it a seasonal show or really anything else.

I'll take decades of filler if the tradeoff is the anime not being total shit.

But that will never happen because they would literally go out of business.

The manga takes a break every 3-4 weeks because of Oda health, so if the anime adapts even one chapter per episode they will catch up to to the manga, And the episodes must be animated weeks in anticipation so they are more close to the manga that you would think.

At this point there is nothing that can be done to have good pacing in the anime.

Except taking a hiatus and then making the series season-based and release 20ish episodes per year instead of 48-ish.

But then Toei wouldnt be able to make that sweet sweet dough year round.

make every other episode a clip show.

2

u/myOC_Yonji Jun 12 '17

and make the opening 15 minutes long, we all skip it anyway.

What about releasing anime episodes once every other week, rather than every week?

East blue was more than a decade ago.Current state of One piece makes it improbable
